Oil Urn ❘ 油壺

Consumable

In Game Description

When this urn hits its mark, the target is drenched in oil, and
    made extremely flammable.

Fire is commonplace on the hunt, and oil urns accentuate its
effect. Sometimes, when hunters burn beasts, they appear
intoxicated by the euphoria of purification.
Note: The same in-game description in US & UK versions. ✓

Effects

  • When locked-on, Oil Urns are thrown toward the enemy in a forward arc. When not locked-on, the urn will move in the direction your character is facing. The camera's orientation can also effect the height of the throw; you can use this to throw them over walls and other obstacles. For extra precision, you can use the Monocular for manual aim. You can have a maximum of 10 in your inventory at once.
  • When an enemy is hit with an Oil Urn, it will take roughly double damage from the next fire-elemental attack that hits it. Used in conjunction with with the Flamesprayer or Molotovs, you can set up some extremely damaging combos. Fire damage from a weapon gem can be multiplied as well, but note that it doesn't work well with visceral attacks; the first hit of a visceral attack is extremely weak, and it will be the hit that is multiplied. As a side note Oil Urn does deal small amount of physical damage scaled with your strength stat.

Status Ailment

  • Effect: Increase Fire DMG [~x2] you take. When hit with Oil Urn by the enemy, this status shows up instantaneously and last for 30 seconds. You can see this effect being active by icon (on the left) present in your HUD. Each hit resets this timer and every fire based hit depletes it. It cannot be "cured" and even changing clothes doesn't affect this status.

Scaling

  • Scaling determines how much additional damage a tool deals. The tool stat bonus, indicated by a letter grade of S / A / B / C / D / E, and the character's stat's current level each correspond to a percentage value. These are multiplied together and against the tool base damage to determine the bonus damage received. Oil Urn has letter grade of D for Strength. In the table below you will find exact (datamined) AR values for featured character stats.
Strength Skill Bloodtinge Arcane AR (phys.) --
-- -- -- -- 10 --
