Flamesprayer ❘ 火炎放射器

Left Hand Weapon

In-Game Description

A special weapon used by certain members of the Healing
    Church.

Spits searing flames by using blood-imbued Quicksilver
    Bullets as a special medium.

Not the most efficient weapon by any stretch, but sometimes
a sea of flame is just what the doctor ordered.

Besides, the beasts of Yharnam can always use a good
    cleansing.
Note 1: The same in-game description in US & UK versions. ✓

Overview

  • To use the Flamesprayer, you hold down L2 instead of pressing it, and a continuous stream of fire comes out. The fire covers a wide area in front of your character and can hit an enemy three times per bullet consumed. The damage scales with your arcane stat rather than bloodtinge. The damage is fire elemental, so hitting an enemy with an Oil Urn will roughly double the damage, but it only works on the first hit. Using Bone Marrow Ash will increase the damage for one Quicksilver Bullet (roughly three hits). Hitting an opponent who is staggered (either through interrupting an attack with gunfire or via a charged attack from behind) will deal double damage on the first hit only.
  • By combining the use of Oil Urns and Bone Marrow Ash and staggering the enemy, you can quickly deal thousands of points of damage with this weapon for the cost of two or three bullets. Thanks to this synergy, the Flamesprayer can be as powerful as the Cannon; it requires more effort to setup, but costs less bullets. Even without the stagger or the Oil Urn, using Bone Marrow Ash on the Flamesprayer can deal a lot of damage to enemies weak against fire or decimate a group of weak foes.

Availability

  • Gilbert's Quest: speak to Gilbert in the evening after entering the Oedon Chapel for the first time
  • Sold by: Bath Messengers [Hunter's Dream]
  • Radiant Sword Hunter Badge: This badge can be found on the top of Healing Church Workshop. It is one of the most important badges to collect; obtaining it adds Bloodstone Shards to the shop's inventory, which will allow you to upgrade weapons easily. It also unlocks Fire Paper and Bone Marrow Ash; these are very useful support items.

Notes

  • Available for purchase after obtaining Radiant Sword Hunter Badge.
  • Staggering L2 strategy: It's possible to hit an enemy with Flamesprayer twice, while consuming only 1 bullet. To do so, you need to release L2 just before consuming second bullet. Flamesprayer will then fire enough to hit an enemy twice, basically doubling it's damage. If a player just holds L2 longer, for every hit Flamesprayer will roughly consume 1 bullet (or x-1 bullet for x number of hits, at best).
  • Continuous fire will consume 1.4 Quicksilver Bullets per second and doesn't consume stamina, you can walk while firing.
  • Good choice as early firearm for arcane builds and disposing most of the beast enemies.
  • You can find concept art of the Flamesprayer in Bloodborne Official Artworks, on page 236.
