Since messengers are gathering in Messengers' Lodge, it's about time to play together and why not involve adored hunters as well. Messengers Events are thematic plays for community surrounding Bloodborne and this wiki. It is done for your amusement and little bit of competitiveness.

Each play has own theme, story and all kind of messengers playing their roles. There are honorary rewards Insight and Titles for achieved successes of participating hunters. Valtr, Master of the League welcomes in new confederates. Members of the League cleanse the streets of all the filth that's spread about during the hunt. The nights brims with defiled scum, and is permeated by their rotten stench. Sentence these fiends to death. With the help of your League confederates.

On a night of the hunt, no, on any night, nothing out there deserves to live.




Vermin writhe within filth, and are the root of man's impurity. Crush all vermin without hesitation.

Confederate's Instruction


Amongst group of messengers there are 4 vermin fiends. Furthermore there is/are vermin fiends hidden in our ranks.
Our goal is to kill all vermin messengers or kill all vermin players. Player who survives with the most vermin crushed wins.
Their goal is to kill all innocent messengers or kill all normal players. Player who survives with the most innocent kills wins.

  • At the start of the hunt, order in which players play will be set. Players will play one action per turn.

  • Vermin players will be let known in secrecy about their role and all vermin messengers.

  • For each vermin messenger there will be vague clue revealed so players could decide.

  • Actions are: Kill Messenger, Accuse Player, Keep All Alive (action moves to other player)

  • Kill Messenger Action: When messenger is killed, it is revealed if messenger was innocent victim or vermin fiend.

  • Accuse Player Action: When player is accused all player votes whether to kill player or not, majority decides, if there is draw player survives. When killed it is revealed if player was innocent victim or vermin fiend.





Pebblers


Jolly messengers observing adored hunters established own religion dedicated to worship the Holy Pebble. It is said that every pebble on earth was bestowed from heavens by the Holy Pebble itself.
As a way to show importance of pebbles to the world they hold Pebble Festival in form of battle where messengers search for pebbles and throw them at each other. Last messenger standing will be victorious and will receive blessing from the Holy Pebble.
Pebble Festival is free for all battle for 3 - 4 players. Each player starts with 3 lifes (except Hector), each round players have one action to take. Actions are: Search for pebble on the board: Player will pick one tile (except Profa) and if you found pebble it will go to your hand (max 3 pebbles) and next round you can pick another action. Throw pebble: If you have pebble in your hand you can throw it at player of your choosing, pebble will deplete one opponent's life or one opponent's fortification. Fortify with pebble: If you have pebble in your hand you can use pebble to strenghten your personal fort, adding pebble to your fort will add 1 to your fortification (max 3 pebbles).
Hunters pick your Chosen Messengers:
Hector, captain of the street pebblers, undefeated in gang brawls. Chosen for his unwavering vigor. Special Ability: starts with 5 lifes;
Profa, local proffessor during the day but at nights cunning pebbler. Chosen for his intelligence. Special Ability: can search two tiles;
Rascal, wherever he goes the calamity follow. Chosen so he doesn't destroy his home. Special Ability: can tear down other forts (-1);
Swifty, the fastest kid, some say he is possessed. Chosen for his unparalleled speed. Special Ability: can throw or fortify instantly

Abyss Watchers rise once every week to purge any sign of the abyss spread. At the start of each week "Abyss Watchers" weekly challenge will be announced. Every player with at least 1 Insight has to apply in order to participate in the challenge. Two players will be drawn and they will battle it out between two of them and Abysswatchers themselves, once both players agree on the date, the challenge can begin.

Introduction

Abyss Watchers weekly challenge is resource game where you compete against other player and Abyss Watchers. Winning player will gain + 2 Insight for the leaderboard, if Abyss Watchers win both players will lose 1 Insight from the leaderboard. Each round you draw numbers from 1 to 7 and one with the higher number wins the draw. There are two resources tied to this base mechanic.

Embers serve as de facto lifes for every player and Abyss Watcher, you gain Embers by winning draws and lose them by losing. Once reached 0 Embers the player or Abyss Watcher dies.

Abyss is difference in drawn numbers and represent you succumbing to the Abyss as you lose (e.g . P1 draws 1 and P2 draws 6, difference between their numbers are 5 so the losing player will gain + 5 Abyss points while winning player will lose 5 Abyss points (Note: lowest number is 0, can't go to negative)). Player or allied Abyss Watcher with the highest Abyss value will be primary target for the Abyss Watchers.

Game Plan

Game starts in the Preparation Stage where only 2 players are present, starting with 1 Ember and 0 Abyss and they draw numbers in 3 rounds to gain initial resources. Players cannot take resources from one another.

Once 3 rounds are completed, the first Abyss Watcher spawns and game enters the Battle Stage. Both players and all Abyss Watchers will make one initiative action (defending doesn't count as action) each round. Abyss Watchers, one spawns at the end of every 3rd round, with 3 Embers and will attack player or other Abyss Watcher with the highest Abyss value.

Actions: Attack target, Ally Abyss Watcher, Use Sigil Card, Buy Sigil Card

Attack target - Pick target and attack be it player or Abyss Watcher (cannot attack allied Abyss Watcher). Players can attack each other but their opponent does not take/lose resources. Only Abyss Watchers can take resources from the player and are able to kill the player.

Ally Abysswatcher - Choose Abyss Watcher to become your ally once in your team it will attack target you picked. To be able to ally Abyss Watcher you have to have one more Ember than the messenger holds (e. g. if Abyss Watcher has 3 Embers you have to give him 4 of your own to make him your ally. If you would want to befriend ally of your opponent you will have to give him 2 more than the messenger currently holds). When you reach 0 Embers your allied Watcher will sacrifice itself giving you + 1 Ember, it can also sacrifice itself and remove other Abyss Watcher if it has at least same amount of Embers. Once Abyss Watcher is allied to player's team the Abyss resource is added to the messenger.

Use Sigil Card - Each player will pick one of the Sigil Cards at the start of the challenge and can use it only once (unless stated otherwise).

Buy Sigil Card - Each player can use their action to buy any card from the set (if you hold card it will be replaced), each card costs 2 of player's Embers.

Winning & Losing Conditions

Players win when opposing player reached 0 Embers OR if you collected 3 allied Abyss Watchers. If Abyss Watchers fill the board with 3 members of the legion they win and both players lose.

You can buy Sigil Cards with your Embers, each card will cost you 2 Embers and action, therefore active card can be played next turn (passive will be in play immediately). Passive cards are marked with (P). Note: *Warrior Jar – Upon playing it, it will be placed at the third (last) spot of the Abyss Watchers, only one Warrior Jar can be placed. **Toast – it is possible to befriend Siegbräu Festival Watcher even from other player’s team.

In Battle Stage of the game random events can occur which are tied to Abyss Watcher spawning, instead of regular Abyss Watchers there can be ones with special properties.

Champion of Cinder

Legends have it that amongst Abyss Watchers lies Champion of Cinder prepared to rise once more.
Gameplay: There is a chance that Champion of Cinder spawns, characterized by the red eyes. Starts with 5 Embers, cannot be allied and each round takes action as first Abyss Watcher. Note: Crestfallen Ambition Sigil card has no effect on Champion of Cinder.

Mauve, the Crestwarden

It is said that special Abyss Watcher hides in their ranks who is sympathetic to the undead struggles.
Gameplay: There is a chance that Mauve spawns, characterized by the purple armor. At the end of the spawning round gives both players choice to either replenish their card or pick new card. Mauve doesn't count towards the Abyss Watchers victory conditions and disappears at the end of the round.


Siegbräu Festival

Duty is the most important matter in legion life of Abyss Watcher however who would neglect festivities, sip jolly on your favorite brew even an Undead can enjoy.
Gameplay: There is a chance that festive Abyss Watcher spawn, it can happen 3 times, each Watcher spawns with 2 Embers and takes action as last Abyss Watcher. Note: It is possible to befriend Watchers from Siegbräu Festival with "Toast" Sigil card.



Mound Makers


Welcome, this is pit for hollows. Come here to pile up your victims, for that will form your anchor. You'll see when you go mad. They'll be your family. Let's see if you can tell how big families are, look at the pictures and make your guess.
Make your guess: If you are correct you get 3 shackles, if your guess miss by one you get 2 shackles, if by two it's 1 shackle. If you are wrong (miss by three) as first you lose none, when second you lose 1 shackle, when third you lose 2 shackles.
Head of the Family: Compete in a ritual to collect the most shackles before your opponents and sacrifice them to welcome the family head into your own. The skull will grant you various advantages. There will be 3 rounds to pick the most shackles from 4 places with different amounts, but beware: if you pick the same spot as your opponent, both will get no shackles.

Few families will have the head of the family within the mound, which grants various advantages to the family. Those who win the subsequent ritual will take the head and can utilize it to their benefit. Each player will start the game with a Founding Piler skull. You can hold a maximum of 3 heads in your inventory.

The Great Exploration




Tomb Prospectors ever tirelessly exploring every corner of the Tomb of the Gods, commonly referred as Chalice Dungeons. However knowledge was lost and tombs were forgotten. Until this time, the Holy Chalice resurfased in the Valley Hamlet, Tomb Prospectors could once again rediscover what was once theirs to take.

Massive expedition was assembled to map all known undeground tunnels, knowledge isn't the only thing Prospectors are interested in, deep withing the tombs are hidden unprecendented treasures Blood Gems and Chalices for ghastly rituals.


Petrified Blood Gems



Before Tomb Prospectors could set a foot into the dungeons a madman brought back the information about ancient petrified blood gems. Calamity of bygone era formed them into today's shape, serving as possible bridges between Yharnam and unimaginable. If true, prospector's campaign could make the biggest breakthrough in decades and that is too important to dismiss. Four expeditions were formed to search for petrified blood gems, each main areas of Pthumeru, Hintertomb, Loran and Isz.

Place long lost petrified blood gem on the altar and conduct forbidden ritual, lucid nightmare reveals sacrilegious path to the tomb of the gods.


Leader, Exploration & Personal Inventory



When you begin exploration you will choose prospector who will lead the way, at the start of each round you can change the leader. There are number of situations you can experience while tomb prospectoring.

When you encounter enemy you have limited time to answer the quiz question if you are correct you will defeat the enemy if not your leader will lose Blood Vial and if there is none in leader's personal inventory leading prospector will die. While if you encounter trap you will have to successfully hide in order to not lose vial or die. Special Items can help you push through enemies and traps. Number of Special Items and Blood Vials you can hold are one, loot you left behind is lost.

When you discover the treasure you can keep it to make it to the surface rich but also you can bribe the Patches to help you in some ways. if you struggle to find layer map Patches, for cheap price of one treasure chest, can tell you proximate location of the map. When you reach the area boss and cannot break through, Patches can help you once again and leave you useful hint.

Each exploration team choose one tile and proceed with action it reveals.

Enemy found, in order to defeat it you have to answer correctly quiz question or lose vial (die).

Patches' Trap
Trap ahead! In order to not lose vial (die) you have to hide.

Bepis
Bepis is a special enemy and only one present in the area. If you encounter it while your leading prospector has Pungent Blood Cocktail in inventory, Bepis will help you on your journey, it will deal with 2 enemies or traps. If you manage to lead it to the area boss it will battle out first phase of the boss. If you encounter Bepis without special item it will sleep and no action will be taken, losing the opportunity for the rest of the event.

Throughout the dungeons you can loot number of special items which will provide support and help you out in dire situations.


Monocular (Unlimited)
Trap Support, gives you 3 more spots to hide from the trap, instead of 6 you have 9 spots.


Hand Lantern (Unlimited)
Enemy Support, gives you extra time for the quiz, instead of 30 seconds you have 60 seconds.

Shining Coins (Unlimited)
Marks your path, dead ends will no longer cost you the next round.

Pungent Blood Cocktail (Finite)
Attracts Bepis to help you in dungeon, deals with 2 enemies or traps and one boss phase if alive.

Hunter's Mark (Finite)
When in the inventory prospector teleports out of danger before dying.



Dungeon Hazards



Traps & Patches the Spider
Patches the Spider left to the dungeons some while ago and it appears he set up dangerous traps throughout the areas. Beware when your Tomb Prospectors expedition encounters the trap you have to find the best hiding spot in secrecy, because your fellow competitors will play role of Patches helpers in order to push you back and to gain more loot for themselves. You have 6 hiding spots to choose from and 9 when your leading prospector has Monocular in its inventory. Once you pick your spot in secrecy, 3 other teams will them pick spot they believe you are hiding in. If they are correct you will lose Blood Vial or leading prospector, if they weren't, you successfully avoided the trap. The competitor team who will find hiding team will receive Blood Vial loot as reward.

Defeat the Enemy
Traps are not only threat within the dungeons as they are inhabited with various enemies and in order to defeat them you have to correctly answer quiz questions in timely manner. You have 30 seconds to answer one question or 60 seconds if your leading prospector has Hand Lantern in its inventory. Theme of the quizes will be quick questions from the world of Bloodborne.

Boss of the Area
Once you deal with all hazards along the way and collect three map pieces, nothing prevents from going against your last and biggest challenge - the Boss of the area, only after defeating it you can obtain the petrified blood gem. Boss have two phases and each phase is represented by the puzzle. You have one attempt per round and only two minutes to make it.

You hear words but they make no sense, key to your success is to find meaning within the sentence and decypher word/s that will push you forward. Beware you have 3 attempts to make it right until your vial reserve or your life runs out, so better get stocked up before entering! First phase you will look for name of the item and during second phase you will look for the Caryll Rune name.

Shadowland of Sumer-Ur



Tomb Prospectors were successful and secured petrified blood gem needed to conduct the forbidden ritual. It becomes the radiating bridge, alas temporary, between the worlds and land of Sumer-Ur will beckon you. Those who touch the petrified blood gem speak of the unholy relic, a chalice, hidden deep within the collapsed nightmare. Is it real and if so, should it be brought back to waking world?

Exploration of Sumer-Ur



Nightmare realm of Sumer-Ur is fested with mindless vicious enemies and traps. If you happen to cross path with Cursed Enemy tough challenge awaits you but if you overcome it, your reward is Blood Vial drop. There are two Bepises sleeping somewhere in these lands so be prepared to make new friends.

Blue Elixir (Finite)
Boss Support, if there are multiple prospectors in the boss arena you can use the Elixir to hide for 3 rounds.

Main objective of prospectors' exploration are 7 hidden layer maps, once all maps are discovered exploration ends and prospectors with the most maps can enter the boss arena, if there is a tie then all tied prospectors can enter.



In the boss arena is waiting your biggest challenge yet The Ascended Hunter. Fight has two phases: First phase you look for a name of Caryll Rune while in the Second Phase you look for an item name. Every third wrong attempt Cursed Enemy materializes to aid the Hunter.
NOTE: Bepis can no longer solo the whole phase of the boss but can knock out 2 irrelevant words from the phase.




Tomb Prospectors expedition set out to explore Shadowland of Sumer-Ur looking for fabled Sumer-Ur Chalice. However mere five prospectors answered the beckoning of petrified blood gem and crossed the bridge between realms.

Vagabond Journey Tournament [PENDING]




Leader of Vagabond Band


In order to decide the new leader, vagabonds organized a tournament to find out who is the most blessed, the most cunning and skillful of them all. New leader will guide the band throughout distant foreign lands and kingdoms.


Art of Duel




There are 4 stats Vitality, Endurance, Attack and Defend. Number next to your Vitality & Endurance stat represents how many portions of HP and Stamina you have. If you run out of stamina you can only parry (not reposte), heal, rest which will replenish all your stamina or use special miracle Second Chance. Number next to your Attack & Defend stat represents how many times you can ask for blessing (draw RNG) to match your chosen blessing. If you do not draw your blessing, action will fail. Maximum for all stats is 4.

There are 5 actions + 1 special action that you can make. Attack, Defend, Parry, Heal, Rest and special: Second Chance.
Attacking costs one portion of stamina and will damage one portion of opponent's HP when you make successful hit. Defending costs one portion of stamina (when blocking a hit and none when you fail to defend) and will block opponent's attack when you successfully defend, then defending player will take initiative.

Parry does not cost any stamina (will cost one portion of stamina upon riposte) but it is high risk, high reward action, you have one chance and to be successful you have to get same matching blessing your enemy attacked with, if you land a parry you will damage two portions of opponent's HP. Beware not all Vagabonds can parry, look out for the sword icon. Note: If you parry with no stamina you cannot riposte but you will deflect opponent's attack and take initiative.

Healing does not cost any stamina and will recover one portion of your HP, beware you have only two flasks to use (ones who can parry have only one flask). Resting will replenish all of your stamina.


Pick Your Blessing




However there are many Demigods to receive blessings from. Before start of the duel you will choose one of the seven blessings provided by Demigods. Malenia's Blessing, Mohg's Blessing, Radahn's Blessing, Rykard's Blessing, Unborn's Blessing Godrick's Blessing and Morgott's Blessing. Let's see who is truly blessed and whose faith is misplaced.

Second Chance


It is special action that you can use only once in the tournament and doesn't require stamina. Revives your vagabond from death with one portion of HP (and starts action). This miracle is a countersign against the pagans who worship death and the dead.


Choose Your Vagabond Champion


Every vagabond has starting stats of 1 / 1 / 1 / 1 and you are given 7 stat points to allocate for your vagabond champion, maximum of each stat are 4 points. Vagabonds with the sword icon can use parry action but have only one flask to use. Those without the icon cannot parry but have two flasks to heal.

The Battle of Vermin Lane




The Old Hunters Expedition


After numerous hunters disappeared rumor started to spread that Nightmare captured them along side of the deceased Laurence. It was said that his human skull still resides there. Band of loyalists gathered under the moonlit night and found their way into the nightmare, determined to bring sacred skull back to the waking world.

The search began in this difficult terrain, it appeard to be molded and twisted version of the world they knew. As the expedition went deeper into the nightmare they quickly realized that they may not find their way back.

Therefore they decided upon leaving numerous items behind and write down their order and whereabouts so they could lead them back to the lamp. After two days Old Hunters were finally successful in finding Laurence's skull but it was too early to celebrate as the makeshift map is now soaked in all kinds of fluids and writing is dissolved...



Vermin


Barely readable map isn't the only problem Old Hunters are facing. Their presence was noticed by the infestation of Vermin, moving through the rivers of blood. After initial attack the expedition got separated and now they are on their own. If Old Hunters are to survive they have to find each other and push back the massive infestation of Vermin!


Regroup & Pass Through Vermin Lane


Hunters, messengers are calling for help. Find your own Old Hunter and guide them to safety. Those leading the way cannot afford mistakes though as every 5th failure will bring Vermin one step closer to pushing you back. Only way to find your pathway to victory is to decode the dissolved names of items which will lead you home. Alternatively you can find small notes of said items across the wiki which were fortunately made when makeshift map was created.

The Old Hunters Escape


That was too close and many were lost, alas the Laurence's skull returned from nightmare alongside with the remains of The Old Hunters expedition. Sacred skull was later placed on the most prominent altar in Grand Cathedral while his beast malformed one from the waking world was hidden in Byrgenwerth.

Planets Align on Christmas Eve


Sky and Cosmos are one! On Christmas Eve, planets align and Choir doesn't want to miss the opportunity to attempt to communicate with outer reaches of the cosmos. After numerous failures no one really believed it would be possible but members of the Choir gathered in lumenflower garden that peculiar night.

Choir is conducting phantasms rite, however all did not go well or perhaps it is going too well as they delve into matters they do not comprehend. Rift is opening, everyone freezed and for a moment there was absolute silence suddently interrupted with distant humming getting closer and closer. It almost sounded cheerfuly festive.



Formless Being



This uncanny melody reached the rift, "Cosmos is singing!" Ezra, the Visionary shouted. Otherwordly being "poured" out of the rift but it has no form to speak of, Choir members could almost see the sphere of sound vibrations. In before they could even attempt to communicate, the Formless Being engulfed lumenflower nearby rotting it to the dust.

Two ripples formed inside the sphere, creating illusion of the eyes, it began absorbing life force from the flowers around. Suddently it moved towards Ezra who as the last ditch effort drank the Blue Elixir, saving his life since Formless Being moved past him as the result.


Stealthy Escape



Blue Elixir, the Choir speciality, this dubious anesthetic numbs the brain, now preventing the Formless Being to feel your presence. Without wasting any time, everyone drank their Blue Elixirs, it worked like a miracle and they were able to sneak past the unstoppable threat.

Eight members of the Choir led by Ezra, the Visionary fled into the secret passage where they have to get through five rooms sealed with mysterious puzzles in order to escape the horrible fate. The Formless Being is closeby, searching and absorbing.

Memory Seal


Despite the Doll's best efforts, repeated deaths and reawakenings can erode the mind of any Hunter. Over countless Hunts, the Messengers have heard Hunters mutter the strangest things upon reawakening, and recorded them for posterity. In truth, these Hunters are recounting their own deaths: Where they were, who they were fighting, and what they were armed with. Each statement is broken into four parts, and each part is anagram of one of the following things:

A Location
A Boss
A Right-Hand Weapon
A Left-Hand Weapon

Each statement has exactly one of each, but they could appear in any order. It could be a Boss, a Right-Hand Weapon, a Location and Left-Hand Weapon, or perhaps a Location, a Left-Hand Weapon, a Right-Hand Weapon, and a Boss.

One category will be revelead at the start of each puzzle, and the other three can be revealed by asking for a clue.

Only the letters count - ignore punctuation marks. Decode the deaths and pass them on the Messengers!

Elixirs wore off and you have to scavenge one for each Choir member, luck has it that in the first room there are 8 Blue Elixirs hidden, however upcoming rooms won't be this generous. Be ready otherwise prepare to perish or perhaps...

Every Choir member has Special Ability which can be used once.

Make Contact
Ultimate sacrifice, make contact with Formless Being and lure it away from the group.

Ebrietas' Plead
Gain favor from Ebrietas, use her Aura to return to previous rooms for left behind Blue Elixirs.

Resonating Bell
Use Choir Bell to revive one member (no Special Ability after revival) who died in current room.

Emergency Stock
Give Elixir to two members of your choosing. Plus leave two Elixirs hidden in current room.

Empathic Call
Use phantasm to make small exploding star (50 % chance to hit) to drive Formless Being away.

Sedate Ability
Use Sedative to replenish one Special Ability of any living member.

Flourist Pact
Give Maeb Blooming Coldblood Flower for a clue in current room.
Chorus Rosmarinus
Use to save two members in its misty chorus. Plus 50% chance to envelope two more.

Clinic Refuge



Harrold, the Excommunicated Blade, former prominent member of the Holy Blades was given task of leading newly formed groups of militia hunters. Today came orders from the Church, instructing him to patrol with such group in Central Yharnam. Group assembled during dusk on the Great Bridge and Harrold after seeing new hunters muttered to himself "we are going to die".

He then proceed to talk to each hunter to assess the group's strength and to know their names.

Night of the Hunt


Hunt is on tonight and group of new recruited Hunters led by Harrold was not prepared, moon is strangely low and beasts more than they can count.

Chase began and whole group had to retreat into Iosefka's Clinic, it appears that no one is here. They quickly barricaded themselves in, hoping to survive. Just glance outside of window and it's clear, clinic's vicinity is overrun by beasts. They are surrounded.


Locked Gate & Devilish Device


Harrold heard about hidden path which would provide them safety passage out of the Clinic and into the woods, however gate is wreathed with five special lock mechanisms. Puzzles? Who would give here such devilish device Harrold looks desperate as he inspects the gate. You have to write correct word to open it and it seems they are connected with opening one mechanism will reveal next one with puzzle inside.


Time of Day


Fourth and fifth puzzles are being solved during Blood Moon:

  • Beast attacks occur each 10 minutes.

  • Each attack costs your group Blood Vial x3. If you don't have enough Blood Vials in Inventory two of the members will die.

  • Inventory of your group has 10 slots to store your items.


Maeb & Fleeting Guidance

Surviving Members & Group Inventory





We have to give ourselves enough time to open the gate that is only option. Clinic is massive and surely there has to be something useful to ward off the beasts. Incense! We have to find it to buy us some time Harrold shouted and Blood Vials to keep us alive they surely will be in the Clinic of all places. Harrold found inventory list where it's stated there should be 16 Blood Vials and 3 Incense urns stored in the Clinic somewhere.



This is group's inventory where you can store your gathered Blood Vials, Incense and Fireflies, space is limited so keep that in mind.




Luck & Beast Attacks


Hunters can gather two resources Blood Vials to survive attacks and Incense to buy them some time to ward off the beasts. Each attack costs group resources Blood Vials, if you run out of vials member of the group will die. You can gather Incense which will add + 10 minutes to the next attack, leader will decided when to use it meanwhile it stays in group inventory.

Battle of Cainhurst Playfield


Battle of Cainhurst Playfield is upon us, who will stand victorious and who will have to say goodbye to snowy playfields will be decided here.

Executioners took the initiative and are gathering troops in Messengers' Lodge to immediately launch the decisive attack while Vilebloods are oblivious to this fact and only Giles, the Vagabond Moth know about impending danger, he has to travel fast and let rest of the Vilebloods know!

It will be race with time and outcome depends on Hunters who will choose which faction they help and their craft.


Executioners & Crusading Act


At last, Executioners are no longer leaderless but there is no time to revel in victory, Levi, the Adjudicator is calling to arms all members of the group in order to invade Cainhurst snowy playfields. New leader Levi is going forward with his bold strategy. Find Ardeo, the Man and Ernest, the Nightmare Dweller with siege weapons and then every 15 minutes find new Executioner until you find 3 reinforcements.

For Executioners time is now crucial since Vileblood spy obtained information about start of the crusade and is on the way to Cainhurst. Therefore in order to claim victory Executioners have to gather enough troops to attack and also outpace the Vileblood spy so Cainhurst defences have no time to prepare or even to destroy the bridge, the only path to the Castle.

Hunters help Levi, the Adjudicator gather his troops so attack can begin!


Hunters on messengers insistence spread across the wiki to help Levi gather his troops and are returning back with Executioners, no wonder they are so adored.

Ernest, the Nightmare Dweller was brought back by Name Hunter questioning his battle usefulness while handing him the church cannon and leaving. Olafson came back with Ardeo, the Man in arms, it's clear they became friends, without a word spoken. Ardeo is clearly man of action and dressed at last. Look it's Oscar, the Foolish Philosopher led by Trin, it seems Oscar is talking about absurdity of cosmos again. This may take a while. Hunter Olafson returned with Simeon, of Welkinhood and looks confused, that is effect that Simeon has on people.

Another hunter is coming this time it's Skaski with Florence, the Red Squirrel and both seems quite happy, Skaski got spare Sedative, it is hard to come across good medicine these days. Eugene, of Acker Family almost made it back on his own no thanks to his Gold Ardeo, however still needed help from Skaski who kindly reunited him with others.

Gebhart, of Pious Arms was fortunate to come across Olafson and made it back to the rest of the group, better no handshake or even worse hugging. Hunter Trin proved wiki awarness and met with Horace, the Simple Intelligencer, who was successful in retrieving Unopenned Summons. Maud will be overjoyed.



Ernest, the Nightmare Dweller
We know very little about Ernest's time before he returned from nightmare but we do know that he used to be company leader which found its way into the Hunter's Nightmare. Alas only he returned and wasn't the same ever since, nowadays taken for a madman, others keep the distance from him due to his unsafe use of heavy weaponry.


Ardeo, the Man
Litlle to none is known about Ardeo, not even the name, he was named after the head piece since he answered leader's calling to arms half naked with shorts and Gold Ardeo probably came from Chalice Dungeons, doesn't talk but it is clear his manliness will be invaluable in upcoming battle.


Oscar, the Foolish Philosopher
Other Executioners call him foolish philosopher for his unstoping barrage of questions about merit of things and his unholy long pauses where he stands against his wheel and stares at the distance not caring about his surroundings. His outlook on life and ideas about executioners place in the universe are unique and thought inspiring albeit in vain on the battlefield.


Simeon, of Welkinhood
Member of the small collective of arcane enthusiasts fully named Welkin Brotherhood. Simeon often says he is communicating with beings in different plane of existence but to others he is simply talking to himself. Regularly visiting Orphanage in Upper Cathedral Ward, where he is frequently found sitting with Celestial Children reading senseless stories from his notes. At nights you can witness strange light around him, for that reason no one wants to sleep in the same tent.


Florence, the Red Squirrel
Nicknamed after Red Squirrel for his hoarding habit, he cannot help himself and collects every item he deems useful, sometimes serving as de facto head of logistics supplying others with needed items. Some say his hoarding is an issue while others call him "resourceful" especially on long distance trips.


Eugene, of Acker Family
Intelligent, witty and kind hearted Executioner who most often than not gets pushed into endevours he would like to avoid, due to interest of his influential family and involved father. More of a clerk than warrior, still can't believe he has to wear Gold Ardeo to battle of all places. Usually helping Florence with logistics of this crusade.


Gebhart, of Pious Arms
Not very talkative, only thing apparent is that he belongs to the order of Pious Arms, despite what would group name suggest, goal is not to bring bread to the starving but rather obsession over close hand to hand combat, not unusual to see one of the members deadly embracing poor soul until it leaves...


Horace, the Simple Intelligencer
Despite being high officer in Bureau of Intelligence, Horace is simple messenger who ranked up thanks to his unwavering loyalty. He was sent on a secret mission by Maud. Meanwhile Horace took upon himself role of a flag-bearer for the crusade, in his own way as he usually does. When he showed up with only Wheel Hunter Badge on a sword, other Executioners asked him why, he said: "There is no banner, just wheel". Some things do not need explanation.




Vilebloods & Riddled Path


However for Giles, the Vagabond Moth and Vilebloods it is race with time as for Executioners,
Giles escaped Executioner's small council and is on the way to Cainhurst by foot,
which would be an adventure even without the impending crusade.



He has to travel through 5 crossroads and pick the right path to get to Cainhurst as fast as possible. On each crossroad is a guidance sign but shrouded with riddle from Sophie, the Riddlemaster. Ever wandering Giles was never fond of riddles and usually asked Bertram, of the Royal Owls to solve them for him. This time, he will have to ask hunters for assitance...


Maeb & Slimy Clues



Giles, after he had to get rid of all of his baggage, continued deep into the forest, when he finally reached his first crossroad with just riddle to guide him. Scratching his head while looking utterly confused, suddenly unknown figure appeared and muttered.

Ah riddle isn't it. I am Maeb, I can be of an assistance you know but it is not for free my friend, you see I am in the middle of hunting three special slugs for my collection and I am willing to grant you a clue for riddle of your choosing in exchange for a special slug. Only three clues I can give, keep that in mind my wandering friend.

Beast scalp with antlers on the head, reeks of mushrooms and wants three slugs for his collection, what a reasonable request, thought Giles to himself. But is there time to hunt slugs?

Copper Coin found pearl slug on the wiki and traded it for the clue for first riddle. Trin found blue marine slug on the Lokey website and traded it for the clue for third riddle. Copper Coin found golden slug on the Lokey website and traded it for the clue for fourth riddle.

First Riddle | Answer: The Brain of Mensis, kill it using poison to avoid the drop | Solved by: Copper Coin
A hygienic Hunter wanted to avoid bloodied remains staining their clothing. One particular creature insisted on placing something disgusting in their inventory upon its death. Frustrated at the situation, they learned that poison was the key to cleanliness. What creature, and why?

Maeb's Clue: The creature is a denizen of the Nightmare, and killing it yields an item that cannot be obtained by any other means. This item is usually added to the Hunter's inventory automatically upon the creature's death, but there exists an obscure way to prevent this from happening.




Second Riddle | Answer: Queen Killer, he can drop items upon death | Solved by: Trin
A holidaying Hunter from Lordran was eager to aid others in jolly co-operation. They tried leaving parting gift in their co-operator's world, but weren't allowed - the laws in Yharnam are different. "But I saw another Hunter do it!", they protested. Must have also been a tourist... Who did they see?

Third Riddle | Answer: Used the Choir Bell on the large bells in the Chalice Dungeons | Solved by: Rizio
An anti-social Hunter was fond of the sound of resonating bells. They rang a bell, and the sound caused a second bell to ring back in reply - but then another Hunter appeared, and spoiled the solitude. In the end, they found a way to resonate two bells without Hunters interrupting. What did they do?

Maeb's Clue: One of the Hunter's bells is designed to affect things in its vicinity, though not always in ways the developers seem to have intended. In particular, it can affect another kind of bell.



Fourth Riddle | Answer: Tomb Prospector Garb. The recorded phantoms, messages and deaths make it gain a cape | Solved by: Trin
A fashion-conscious Hunter spent the night choosing the perfect outfit. Their clothes looked fine to them, and fine to their co-operators, but then they found out what other Hunters saw... To those other Hunters, the outfit had gained a conspicuous accessory the wearer and their co-operators swore wasn't there. What were they wearing, and what happened?

Maeb's Clue:A ghostly graphical effect is applied to the phantom Hunters who fade in and out, appear above messages, and have their deaths played back. An oddity of this graphical effect is that a certain garb suddenly gains a significant addition which cannot be seen in any other way during gameplay. You can also see a full colour version of it in the art book.



Fifth Riddle | Answer: Isz Root Chalice, one has the Isz glitch | Solved by: Trin
Two argumentative Hunters refused to believe each other's stories about a place they had both visited. "I know what I found, and I even showed you how I found it!", the first said. "I did exactly what you did, but what you described was never there!", replied the other. Neither were mistaken. Where had they visited, and what happened?

Maeb's Clue: None


Battle Reports



Levi, the Adjudicator led Executioners to the victory! Hunters Olafson, Named Hunter, Trin and Skaski guided messengers to the Messengers' Lodge in such a haste Giles, the Vagabond Moth wasn't able to reach Cainhurst Castle in time and warn rest of the Vilebloods about the crusade. Thanks to this Vilebloods were not prepared and Executioners seized snowy playfields of Cainhurst for themselves.

Executioners' Small Council



With Cainhurst wiki page claimed by expedition led by Leo, the Vileblood Drifter, word spread into the world that Cainhurst is once again safe haven for Vilebloods. Messengers in fancy garderobe came in droves as playground on the snowy fields and fancy halls were too tempting to ignore. Leo realizing there is almost no more place to play, made the unpopular decision, blocking off the bridge and rising up the sign
"No more messengers allowed".
Nonetheless fun is to be shared, so group of messengers worshiping Wheel Hunter Badge as Executioners saw no option other than to invade Cainhurst and seize snowy fields for themselves. Enthusiasts they are, messengers proclaimed to unleash the crusade. However Martyr Logarius is gone and Alfred is nowhere to be found, messengers have no advisor and what more no leader. This cannot stand so small council was assembled.


Small council is being held and new Executioner leader who will lead crusade to the Cainhurst Castle is voted. Levi, the Adjudicator, August, of Holy Blades and Maud, the Head of Intelligence stepped up as possible leaders but they could not come to the final decision of who will be the leader, thus they went to their adored hunters to pick leader for them. Given the task at hand, leaders presented their strategy for upcoming battle.


Maud, the Head of Intelligence
Known as superb strategist in high inner circle of Executioners, Maud abandoned old doctrine of attacking in waves and storming other side positions no matter the causalities. She was heard it will be her priority to convince rest of the Exectuioners to cast away Ardeo hats, outcome is unclear since Ardeo is stample of the Executioners garderobe. Still waiting to prove herself in battle, her Kirkhammer oozes with eager and she trains vigorously for that one day...

Motto: "Plans don't survive first day of the battle, I will make sure you do"

Strategy: Maud's strategy relies heavily on intelligence, she got information from her scouts that there are unopened summons somewhere in Cathedral Ward, which would allow small group of Executioners straight safe path to Cainhurst Castle where they could lead surprise attack. So Maud sent her most trusted officer Horace to retrieve it.


August, of Holy Blades
August is considered strongest of known Executioners, despite mocking traditional exectioner's weaponry as fancifully impractical he is revered by many. Irony of the Golden Ardeo hat is escaping him. Master of Ludwig's Holy Blade. Sometimes ridiculed for his fondness of bloody cocktails and carefree approach even in dire situations.

Motto: "Victory is given but we should strive to bring fun into the battle even in liquid form."

Strategy: August's strategy is very simple and keen to his nature, he plans to storm the Cainhurst Castle with sheer force and outnumber the Vilebloods. For this simple but safe strategy he needs to gather every known Executioner, which is no small feat considering he doesn't even know where his opponents Maud and Levi are.


Levi, the Adjudicator
Despite his younger age, Levi is battle hardened fanatic proving his combat excellence every time he sets foot on the battlefield. Once compassionate with his people, now fully devoted to the cause of blood healing purity. Used to be scout party officer. His devotion inspires admiration amongst messengers, but those serving beside him would tell differently, not hesitating to sacrifice himself and everyone around him if needed but none of Executioners can deny his merits.

Motto: "Put more faith into the Old Blood"

Strategy: Levi's strategy is sharp and bold, he puts all faith into siege cannons wielded by Ardeo and Ernest to break Cainhurst defences and then will charge into the victory given he will gather enough troops, he let himself heard that he will not wait long for reinforcements as every second they waste is insult to blood purity.


So hunters it is now up to you to decide which messenger gets your vote, but alas not too fast as messengers have their strange ways of getting ones favor. You can only vote with special coins that only messengers recognize their true, non monetary, value. How can one come across such coins, they are hidden all over the wiki for you to pick up and bless the candidate with your favor.


Gold Coin is the most valuable coin out there. It is said that only few can still be found, considered more treasure of itself than a mere coin, if hunter is really fortunate and manages to find one, he can give his candidate + 10 favors with the coin.

Silver Coin the second most seeked out coin out there. Rare to catch one of these in the wild and even less common to see one giving it out of hand, if hunter comes across one, he can give his candidate + 6 favors with the coin.

Bronze Coin is quite common but still holds recognizable value. Easy on the eyes currency which messengers still hold dear and are often found playing with them on the ground, if hunter manages to find one, he can give his candidate + 3 favors with the coin.

Copper Coin is barely wanted coin and some decide to not even pick it up but that would be a mistake as messengers still like to play treasure hunting make-believe. If hunter stumbles on this one he should not sigh, as he can give his candidate + 1 favor with the coin.


Vileblood Among Us


What's this... Maud, the Head of Intelligence spotted someone hiding..

Giles, the Vagabond Moth wandered around Cathedral Ward when he noticed commotion and spotted numerous messengers dressed as Executioners. He hid himself behind the statue and listened.

...but before anyone could catch him, he ran for his life, Giles barely escaped, and now it is up to him to reach Leo, the Vileblood Drifter in Cainhurst Castle before Executioners gather enough troops and attack.

For Executioners time is now crucial since Vileblood spy obtained information about start of the crusade and is on the way to Cainhurst. Therefore in order to claim victory Executioners have to gather enough troops to attack and also outpace the Vileblood spy so Cainhurst defences have no time to prepare or even to destroy the bridge, the only path to the Castle.

Victory conditions for upcoming battle are clear now, choose wisely...


Victory Conditions


Maud's Victory Conditions:

  • Find Horace, the Simple Intelligencer who is on the secret mission.

  • Then gather at least 5 Executioners.

  • Fulfill conditions above before Giles reaches Cainhurst.


August's Victory Conditions:

  • Find 8 Executioners and 2 candidates Maud and Levi since August already forgot their whereabouts.

  • Fulfill condition above before Giles reaches Cainhurst.


Levi's Victory Conditions:

  • Find Ardeo, the Man and Ernest, the Nightmare Dweller with siege weapons.

  • Then every 20 minutes find new Executioner until you find 3.

  • Fulfill conditions above before Giles reaches Cainhurst.

  • If you fail to gather reinforcement within 20 minutes Levi will attack and sacrifice himself with rest of the gathered group.

  • Note: (every time you find one reinforcement, timer resets and you have 20 minutes to find new one).


Considering this turn of an events, causality perhaps, good strategy and leader will be needed more than ever and fast! You hunters have it in your hands, find special coins and grant your favor to leader you deem worthy!

On the other hand one could feel a bit mischievous? Or just liking good challenge...

Levi, the Adjudicator is Executioners new leader!


Election is over and hunters have spoken, they gave 298 favors to the Levi, the Adjudicator, who can summon Executioners' crusade to the Cainhurst Castle. Levi made from other two opponents officers realizing their value. Now Levi will regroup Executioners in Messengers' Lodge and launch an attack on Cainhurst.

Hunter who gave the most favors and claimed title of Coin Master is Copper Coin with 108 favors given. Second hunter who blessed messenger with most favors is BabyPana with 58 favors and third hunter Dopefull with 34 favors casted. Honorable mention to Hollowed_Trash as the fourth hunter.


With leader being elected, to lead Executioners to battle, marking the end of part one of this event.

Messengers' Cainhurst Play



Rumor is spreading that moon scented hunter bested Master Logarius and Executioners left Cainhurst, now home only to deformed creatures and spirits of the past. Word reached exiled Leo, the Vileblood Drifter who started expedition to Cainhurst Castle, gathering his most trusted Cainhurst Knights. However on their journey Leo and the knights got ambushed by Urn Festival messengers and their festive ways parted far and wide.

Knights who joined the mission and vanished into the unknown are Melvin, of Halven Lance wielding his Reiterpallash, Silas, the Tomb Petrologist still chasing rarest of blood gems, Harrell, the Champion of Feeding Grounds never putting his worn-out Chikage away, kind Bertram, of the Royal Owls and ever wandering Giles, the Vagabond Moth.

Leo made it to the Messengers' Lodge and now is waiting here for his lost companions. Help him rally his knights once again, so they can fulfill their mission to reclaim the Cainhurst wiki page.


Lost members of the expedition were found in nook and crannies of the wiki labyrinth and brought back to the Leo, the Vileblood Drifter in Messengers' Lodge.

Melvin, of Halven Lance made it back through guidance of Trin, looks like he only now realized that he was lost. Silas, the Tomb Petrologist seemed to find circle blood gem but lost himself in the labyrinths, good for him Skaski made it in time and brough him back. Harrell, the Champion of Feeding Grounds found his way to the Messengers' Lodge with assistance of Dopefull, Harrell fought countless of battles but navigation never was his strongest trait.

Group sharpshooter Bertram, of the Royal Owls with Cainhurst's favorite Evelyn went on to find Giles but got lost on the way, thankfully Copper Coin tracked him down and reunited him with rest of the expedition. Giles, the Vagabond Moth serving as rearguard is back, luckily Copper Coin found him before he could get lost again, let's hope he will bring working lantern next time.

Since they are gathered here in Messengers' Lodge they can finally set out to reclaim the Forsaken Castle Cainhurst wiki page. Thanks to you hunters, little ones were successful in their goal and Messengers' Cainhurst Play is over.
