In-Game Description This hunter's badge, crafted in Gehrman's time, has no practical purpose, except perhaps to assist in romanticising about the past. The badge was a special privilege for the hunters of the past, and should not be dishonoured. It should be left in peace, unless one is truly prepared to assume the will of those gone before. Old Hunter Badge will make Burial Blade and Gehrman's Hunter Set available for sale at Bath shop in Hunter's Dream, providing you with a unique weapon and attire of Gehrman, The First Hunter. Badges are proof of your achievements and can be shown to the Bath Messengers and Insight Bath Messengers in the Hunter's Dream to expand the shop inventory. You'll sometimes find these valuable relics on the bodies of the fallen, but you may also receive them from other hunters. Obtaining certain badges will add extremely useful and important items to the shop's lineup, so it's worth going out of your way to find them. The Bath Messengers are the most straightforward of the game's merchants; they can be found in the lower bath in the Hunter's Dream from the start of the game, and offer you the options to buy and sell items. By acquiring new badges, the Bath Messengers shop will start filling with new messengers in the bath. Each badge adds unique messenger alongside with new sortiment for you to buy. Old Hunter Badge adds Messenger clapping at the right back. Availability Dropped by (Main Story): Gehrman, The First Hunter, you cannot obtain it early by attacking him prior to the final sequence of events at the base of the Great Tree. To fight Gehrman, you must refuse his offer to behead you and end the nightmare. Notes Unlocks Burial Blade and Gehrman's Hunter Set for purchase at Bath Messengers. If you consumed three Third Umbilical Cord you can obtain unlocked items from this badge without need for NG+ by either using Bold Hunter's Mark or exiting the game during the following boss fight. Attacking Gehrman under the Great Tree before initiating the conversation will proceed with the event as though you had selected "Refuse". Upon starting New Game+ Old Hunter Badge will stay in your inventory. Other Key Items (except for other Badges, Blood Gem Workshop Tool, Rune Workshop Tool, Short Ritual Root Chalice, Workshop Haze Extractor and Ring of Betrothal) you acquired on your previous playthrough will be stripped away and you'll need to collect them again.
