Basic Information

  • After completing Bloodborne, the game will automatically begin again. You'll keep your stats and most of your items, and your enemies will become stronger. You'll receive more Blood Echoes for defeating foes, and most of the treasures placed in the areas will once again be available.
  • Upon starting New Game+ all of the Key Items (except for Badges, Blood Gem Workshop Tool, Rune Workshop Tool, Short Ritual Root Chalice and Workshop Haze Extractor, Yharnam Stone and Ring of Betrothal) you acquired on your previous playthrough will be stripped away and you'll need to collect them again. You do, however, get to keep all of your other items, including all dungeon materials and Chalices. All of your stats and weapons will also carry over intact.
  • This means you will need to acquire Eye of a Blood-drunk Hunter again in order to access the DLC. To make it appear you will need to first progress through the main game until you have defeated Vicar Amelia in the Grand Cathedral and inspected the altar at the back of the room to advance time to Night. At that time you can return to the Hunter's Dream and you'll find this item at the base of the stairs, exactly where the Messengers gave you their gifts at the start of the game. Then go to the Oedon Chapel in Cathedral Ward, leave via the left-hand exit to enter the square and as item description says "A deformed creature will whisk you away ...", into the Hunter's Nightmare.
  • The main changes in New Game+ are the enemy's stats; they all hit much harder and have larger health reserves, so they are more difficult to kill. The increase to their stats is dependent on the area, with earlier parts of the game getting a much bigger increase than later ones, so you'll need to be on your toes right from the start. The values shown in the tables below show you how much enemy stats are multiplied by in each area. The table here shows the stat multipliers for your first NG+ playthrough. The values are not absolute, though; many enemies have unique multipliers as required to keep the balance intact. This means they should only be taken as a rough guideline for how the New Game+ system works. The only enemies that are not affected by these changes are the ones found in dungeons; they will remain the same regardless of how many playthroughs you've done. If you chose the Yharnam Sunrise ending, you'll also notice a new Tombstone in the Hunter's Dream that the Doll will sometimes pray at; maybe she has fond memories of someone she once knew?
  • New Game Plus does not effect difficulty of Chalice Dungeons in any way. Multiplayer is not affected as well, game cycles do not come into the matchmaking process.

  • In New Game Plus (Patch 1.07) Bath Messengers unlock following items: Ritual Blood(5) and Tomb Mold(5)
  • In New Game Plus (Patch 1.07) Insight Bath Messengers unlock following items: Coldblood Flower Bulb, Blooming Coldblood Flower, Sage's Wrist, Sage's Hair, Inflicted Organ, Yellow Backbone, Bastard of Loran
  • You now have to re-acquire the Tiny Music Box each playthrough, as of Patch v1.07
  • The chest in Central Yharnam containing the Blood Gem Workshop Tool will in next playthroughs contain a Kin Coldblood(12)
  • The corpse in Witch's Abode in Hemwick Charnel Lane with the Rune Workshop Tool will in next playthroughs hold a Kin Coldblood(12)
  • Blood Addled status related to the Hunter Caryll Rune is not cleared in NG+.

  • The increase in difficulty does not stop after your first playthrough - you can keep making things more and more difficult all the way up to your 7th playthrough. Starting with NG+2, subsequent playthroughs have enemy HP, ATK, DEF and Blood Echoes amounts that scale consistently off of NG+ values. The Playthrough table shows the multipliers for further rounds of NG+. These are applied to the values in the above table, and not to the game base values. This means that while these multipliers are always static, the resulting stat increases may seem inconsistent, because they are being applied to the guideline values which can be slightly different on a per-enemy basis.
