In Game Description One of the root chalices that breaks various seals in the Old Labyrinth. The glass chalice, when full, is used in a short ritual to quickly create and join a Chalice Dungeon (not for use in a ritual using standard materials). Short rituals are conducted at the makeshift altar. Effects Before you can use the Makeshift Altar in Hunter’s Dream, you have to acquire the Short Ritual Root Chalice. This chalice is an important online item, which allows for drop-in matchmaking in the Chalice Dungeons. Using the Makeshift Altar gives you three options: Dungeon Quick-search: Create a random dungeon you have previously created. It will be a randomly created Root dungeon with no additional rites. You cannot control which dungeon it is, or use any kind of glyphs, but these dungeons do not take any materials. It's another way how to farm items or ritual materials if needed. Co-op Quick-search: Join a random co-op dungeon, where anyone in a dungeon you currently have access to is ringing their Beckoning Bell. Adversarial Quick-search: Join a random PvP dungeon, where any dungeon you currently have access to has a Bell-Ringing Woman present who is ringing her bell. Availability Dropped by (Preset Dungeons): Pthumerian Elder in Lower Hintertomb Labyrinth L3 Patch v1.04 changes: Sold by: Insight Bath Messengers [Hunter's Dream] Notes Available for purchase after completing Pthumeru Chalice by defeating Watchdog of the Old Lords on layer 3 of the Pthumerian Labyrinth Patch Notes v1.04: Players can now acquire a Short Ritual Root Chalice by trading Insight. The Chalice will become available after completing the Pthumeru Chalice dungeon. Players can now use the Short Ritual Root Chalice’s quick matching feature in the early part of the game. Additionally this patch changed Makeshift Altar's matchmaking by not allowing players to access Chalice Dungeons they are yet to visit by conducting chalice ritual.
