In-Game Description Remnant of the eldritch Truth encountered at Byrgenwerth. Use phantasms, the invertebrates known to be augurs of the Great Ones, to partially summon abandoned Ebrietas. The initial encounter marked the start of an inquiry into the cosmos from within the old labyrinth, and led to the establishment of the Choir. Note 1: The same in-game description in US & UK versions. ✓ Note 2: Original Japanese text on Original Japanese Item Index page. ✓ Effects Augur of Ebrietas requires 18 points in arcane to use; it summons forth giant tentacles from your hand that deal arcane damage. It only costs one bullet per use, and has an S rating in arcane scaling. Augur of Ebrietas also knocks down most enemies. Only the tip damages enemies; just the tip. This attack has a very long recovery. The primary use of this spell is to knock down enemies, and it can be used to interrupt or stagger in the same manner as gunshots and charged attacks, respectively. You can use it to knock enemies into environmental hazards, like fires or pools of poison, or you can use it to let a co-op partner position themselves behind the enemy. Hitbox on Augur of Ebrietas is deceptively small and acts more as a gun as shown in this video, you can dodge into it but you need to dodge a lot later than you would think. The tool stat bonus, indicated by a letter grade of S / A / B / C / D / E, and the character's stat's current level each correspond to a percentage value. These are multiplied together and against the tool base damage to determine the bonus damage received. Augur of Ebrietas has letter grade of S for Arcane.
