Lead Elixir Lead Elixir Grant super armor in cost of slow movement [30 seconds] - / 3 - / 99 Finite Liquid medicine shifts weight to deflect attacks

Lead Elixir ❘ 鉛の秘薬

Consumable

In-Game Description

    A heavy, syrupy liquid medicine.

Temporarily shifts weight to make deflection of attacks
easier, but must be used with care, as it also slows
movement with no change to defence.

The recipe for this mysterious concoction is unknown, but
some postulate that it materializes only within the most
    desperate nightmares.

Effects

  • Drinking a Lead Elixir slows down your walking and running speeds, but it gives you a small amount of super armor. This means that you can take a light hit or two without flinching. Large hits will still cause you to flinch or stumble, and multiple consecutive hits will also break your super armor. You can, however, still roll and quickstep while this elixir is in effect. It lasts for 30 seconds, and you can only hold three at a time. The best use of this elixir is for users of slow, hard-hitting weapons. You can trade hits with a light enemy and break their super armor with your heavy weapon. As long as the enemy attack is weak, you can even get your health back via the regain system. This elixir can be especially useful for a heavy weapon user against light weapon users in PvP. Just beware the decreased movement speed; you won't be able to run away if something goes wrong, and you won't be able to catch your opponent if they flee.
  • In-game testing: Despite in-game description, Lead Elixir does impact how much damage you take from the attacks. You don't gain a boost to your defense, but you gain a hidden "attack deflection stat". Incoming attacks have a value which is bounced off that deflection stat, and if it's too low, that's when the damage is reduced by 50%, but certain melee attacks are strong enough to not be deflected. So most of the melee attacks - physical, be it normal or visceral attack, and elemental (e.g. buff), its damage is reduced by 50%, and the following ranged weapons will have their damage reduced by 50% as well: Simon's Bowblade, Blunderbuss, Cannon, Hunter Pistol, Rosmarinus, Evelyn, Repeating Pistol, Ludwig's Rifle, Flamesprayer, Gatling Gun, Church Cannon, Piercing Rifle, Throwing Knives, Pebble, Molotovs (excluding the explosion of a timed molotov), Numbing Mist, and Oil Urn. Light and Normal impact hits will not stagger and will bounce off of the player providing openings to strike back. Even Heavy impact hits can bounce off but will stagger. While Lead Elixir effect is active Augur of Ebrietas and Beast Roar will forfeit their knockdown property and will only stagger you. Noteworthy is that transformed 2 handed Chikage will not bounce off.
  • Data Testing (by foxy):
  • Lead Elixir's effect is doing 4 things:
  • Makes user walk slow,
  • gives user hyper armor (changing stagger animations when user is hit),
  • gives user 40 points of what From Software calls Flick Defense,
  • halves the damage from all attacks that are deflected via Flick Defense.
  • Player weapons have the following values:
  • Base Repel Attack (flat damage value which goes vs Flick Defense)
Most weapons have either 10 or 20, Logarius' Wheel is unique and has 40.
  • Each attack multiplies the above value by either 1x, 3x or 99x
Light attacks usually have 1x, strong attacks 3x, plunging/jumps 99x.
  • So in example a Saw Cleaver has 20 Repel Attackm R1s have a 1x multiplier, R2s have a 3x multiplier. R1 - 20 Repel Damage vs 40 Flick Defense; will bounce from Lead and damage is halved. R2 - 60 Repel Damage vs 40 Flick Defense; will not bounce from Lead and will deal normal damage.
  • Self Buff Limitation: Just as you can apply only one buff for the weapons, you cannot have more than one self buff active at the same time. Only exception is Beasthood generated by the Beast Claw. Therefore you can't combine effects of the items such as Arcane Items Messenger's Gift and Old Hunter Bone. Consumables Beast Blood Pellet, Blue Elixir, Lead Elixir and even special blood vials with self buff effect like Blood of Adeline, Blood of Adella, Blood of Arianna. So beware when going into the fight that you can't use two of before mentioned items and "cannot use" animation will be performed when trying so which can cost you the fight.
