In-Game Description One of the secrets of the Choir. Long ago, the Healing Church used phantasms to reach a lofty plane of darkness, but failed to make contact with the outer reaches of the cosmos. The rite failed to achieve its intended purpose, but instead created a small exploding star, now a powerful part of the Choir's arsenal. At times, failure is the mother of invention. Requires 40 points of arcane to use, and has S scaling in arcane. It consumes seven bullets per cast. When used, A Call Beyond creates a scattering of magical stars that fly away from your character Each one that hits the enemy deals a chunk of pure arcane damage. At first, this spell seems very hard to control, but most of the shots do actually home-in on your lock-on target. They travel along a very wide, arcing path, though, and they'll disappear if they hit an obstacle on the way. For this reason, it's best to use this spell in wide open spaces. Low ceilings will also interfere with your shots, so make sure you have vertical clearance as well. Fortunately, most boss rooms have a wide open space where you can use this. You'll need to experiment to find the best distance to use it from Generally, casting it from near max lock-on range produces the best results. It's also better against large enemies; once again, bosses are often good targets. It does take time to cast, though, so you may have an easier time using it in co-op.
