Eileen the Crow ❘ 狩人狩りアイリーン

NPC

Description

A veteran hunteress with an unusual pair of warped swords. Wears a crowfeather mantle
and a doctor's mask, uses bizarre swordmanship. Well, she seems to be an ally...

Hunters of Hunters dress as crows to suggest sky burial. The first Hunter of Hunters came from a foreign land, and gave the dead a virtuous native funeral ritual, rather than impose a blasphemous Yharnam burial service upon them, with the hope that former compatriots might be returned to the skies, and find rest in a hunter's dream.
  • Eileen is an assassin whose sworn duty is to dispose of other hunters that have been corrupted by their lust for blood. Like the player, she hails from outside Yharnam and is a foreigner to the region, but her presence in the city is driven by an entirely different set of motives; she makes a point of keeping a low profile and operating in the shadows, and you may never meet her in the first place if you don't go out of your way to explore. You can start her quest either on the Dry Dock -Rafters in Central Yharnam or to the left of the Oedon Chapel's front entrance in the Cathedral Ward, and your choices after that point will determine her fate. Helping Eileen defeat Henryk in the Tomb of Oedon is the tipping point of her quest - failure to do so before entering the Forbidden Woods for the first time will result in her becoming your enemy, and will prevent you from receiving any of the successive rewards other than the Crow Hunter Badge.

Locations

  • Central Yharnam Dry Docks
From Central Yharnam Lamp: Take route through open gate (shortcut) and past two Huntsman Minions continue to dog cages and to Dry Docks, once entered break barrels to the right and jump down the window, continue to the right side and break another barrels revealing path to standing Eileen.
  • Cathedral Ward outside of Oedon Chapel
Spawn at Cathedral Ward Lamp and leave Oedon Chapel from the front entrance, then immediately turn left. You'll see Eileen right a way.
  • Central Yharnam Tomb of Oedon
During this period Tomb of Oedon lamp will not work for you, so it is necessary to spawn at the Cathedral Ward lamp and head back to the Tomb of Oedon where you fought Father Gascoigne.
  • Cathedral Ward Grand Cathedral
Last encounter is right at the front of, or inside, Grand Cathedral, where you fought Vicar Amelia, in Cathedral Ward.

Stats & Equipment

  • Tables below consist of datamined stats and equipment, this specific information is for NPCs, hunters or less, that uses a player-like human model and skeleton, practically every NPC that can be equipped with player's gears. Some characters are equipped with items that they aren't programmed to use by the AI, such items are highlighted. All characters have infinite Quicksilver Bullets and 99 copies of any item they hold (including Blood Vials) and the only thing that prevents from infinitely consuming them is written in their AI script. For information about all characters visit Datamined NPCs Stats & Equipment wiki page.

Progression

1.
Central Yharnam Dry Dock [Day / Evening]
Speak to her twice at the Dry Docks in Central Yharnam to begin her quest and receive the initial rewards. If you miss her in this location, you can still trigger her opening dialogue outside of Oedon Chapel.
2.
Cathedral Ward Oedon Chapel [Evening]
If you didn't start her quest in Central Yharnam, you can do so out side the Oedon Chapel instead. Beware! Failure to trigger her initial dialogue before entering the Forbidden Woods will instantly end her quest and permanently remove her from the game.
3.
Cathedral Ward Oedon Chapel [Evening]
Speak to her outside of Oedon Chapel after opening the gate to round plaza, before triggering the nighttime by examining the skull in Grand Cathedral, and she'll tell you about Henryk, her current assassination target, and teach you a gesture. If you started her quest at the chapel rather than in Central Yharnam, you'll need to reload the area to in order to trigger this dialogue.
4.
Central Yharnam Tomb of Oedon [Evening]
If you head straight to Father Gascoigne's boss area after Eileen warns you about Henryk, he will attack you immediately and Eileen will arrive partway through the battle to assist you. If you reload the game after receiving Eileen's warning, she will already be fighting Henryk when you arrive. Beware! If Eileen dies during the fight not only her quest ends but you will no longer be able to summon Henryk as Old Hunter Summon even after you defeat him.
5.
Central Yharnam Tomb of Oedon [Evening]
Help Eileen defeat Henryk and speak to her before entering the Forbidden Woods to learn a gesture and advance her quest along the "good" path. If you do not defeat Henryk before entering the Forbidden Woods Eileen's quest will advance along "bad" path.
6.
Cathedral Ward Grand Cathedral [Blood Moon]
If you helped Eileen defeat Henryk, you'll find her wounded outside of Grand Cathedral. Speak to her to learn a gesture, then proceed into the cathedral and defeat the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst. If you didn't help Eileen defeat Henryk, she will be waiting inside the Grand Cathedral and will attack you on sight; defeating her yields the Crow Hunter Badge and ends her quest.
7.
Cathedral Ward Grand Cathedral [Blood Moon]
Speak to her outside the Grand Cathedral after defeating the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst to conclude her quest and receive the final set of rewards.

Strategy

  • Should Eileen become your enemy at any point, you'll have a tricky battle on your hands. She's very agile and will usually use her Blade of Mercy in its transformed mode, making her attacks quick and hard to predict; she'll also occasionally attempt to interrupt you and will perform a visceral attack if she's successful. She'll sometimes toss a Throwing Knife at you if you're out of range of her pistol, so it's important not to let your guard down even if she's far away. Interrupting her swift swings can be difficult but is the most effective means of defeating her; she's very good at dodging, so it's a good idea to lure her into a narrow space where she can't evade your attacks. She tends to walk straight into charged R2 thrust attacks from weapons with long reach, but transformation attacks and slower R1 combos may not be fast enough to hit her before she quicksteps out of the way.

Drops

  • Crow Hunter Badge [100%]
  • + Blood Dreg x1 [100%] when Corruption is equipped

Notes

  • Eileen's last portion of quest outside/inside Grand Cathedral is triggered once player defeats Rom, the Vacuous Spider and trigger cutscene.
  • During Henryk hunt Tomb of Oedon lamp is unlit and becomes unavailable until lit again. It is however still possible to respawn at this lamp, awaken at Tomb of Oedon after killing Blood-starved Beast, go through the Healing Church Workshop or use Hunter Chief Emblem and open all three gates in Cathedral Ward, then immediately find Eileen and talk to her, which triggers Henryk to spawn. Then die, the result is that you spawn right back at Tomb of Oedon lamp, and Henryk immediately charges you!
  • During Blood Moon Eileen's questline Grand Cathedral lamp is unlit and becomes unavailable until lit again.
  • Using Choir Bell to heal injured Eileen in front of Grand Cathedral will kill her instead, as she is programmed to die from any registered hit even though Choir Bell deal 0 damage.
  • Due to sequence breaking [Timezone Manipulation] you can see that Eileen and Patches have different triggers to progress their quest lines despite both have essentially enter the Forbidden Woods trigger. It's irrelevant unless you're sequence breaking, the trigger for Eileen to disappear / go blood drunk is you "entering forbidden woods", as in, the "Forbidden Woods" title card comes up but Patches can be triggered before that if you just go down the ladder and then come up again, he'll be at the window and Eileen will still be in Central Yharnam. If you go all the way out of the cave, Eileen disappears.

Cooperation & NPCs

  • Note that cooperators can not damage the NPCs, as they only see the transparent silhouette of it. Therefore if you make the NPC hostile your cooperator isn't able to help you other than to "body block" it.

First encounter (Central Yharnam or Cathedral Ward)
Oh, a Hunter are ye? And an outsider? What a mess you've been caught up in. And tonight of all nights. Here, to welcome the new Hunter. Prepare yourself for the worst. There are no humans left. They're all flesh-hungry beasts, now.
x button
Talk again
Still lingering about? What's wrong? A hunter, unnerved by a few beasts? Heh heh... No matter. Without fear in our hearts, we're little different from the beasts themselves.
x button
Talk again
What are you still doing here? Enough trembling in your boots. A hunter must hunt.
x button
Meet at Cathedral Ward outside of Oedon Chapel
Oh, hello there. Perfect timing. I must warn you not to go near the tomb below Oedon Chapel in the Cathedral ward. Henryk, an old hunter, has gone mad. And he’s my mark…
x button
Talk again
Don't go near the tomb below Oedon Chapel in the Cathedral Ward. I have business there first...

Tomb of Oedon after defeating Henryk
That wasn't necessary of ya. But you have my thanks. We made it with our lives... You're not bad at all. You must have killed Gascoigne as well then. He was falling apart... I'm sure it had to be done. But try to keep your hands clean... The Hunter should hunt Beasts. Leave the hunting of Hunters, to me.
x button
Meet in front of Grand Cathedral
Oh, is that you again? I'm afraid I've made a bit of a blunder. I'm just going to have a short rest. Oh, don't worry, I've taken blood. Enough to save an old woman. No more dreams for me. This is my last chance. What a fool I am. I'll have to tread carefully. But that thing still lies in wait. Turn back. This is my score to settle. My prey lies in wait this way. Turn back. This is my score to settle.
x button
Talk again after defeating her prey
Don't you ever listen to your elders? No matter, you did save my life. I don't seem to be apt for this life anymore... My glory days were long ago now... Hmm, I know... Here, for you. This too is hunters' work, but bears no honor. A burden you may choose to carry. The decision is yours alone. Ahh, my eyes grow heavy... Let me rest a while... ...I'll be fine, just wait...
R1 button
Attack her (before Grand Cathedral)
Look at you, you sorry drunk. I’ll string you up like the filthy beast you are. You shall not abscond your crimes!
R1 button
While Eileen is hurt
Were you not once a hunter? Is this sincerely what you want? That’s enough now.. No one will blame you.
R1 button
Being killed by Eileen
You still have dreams? Tell the little doll I said hello.

Upon death
You can’t go on like this…

Hostile Eileen inside Grand Cathedral
Heh heh… Few hunters can resist the intoxication of the hunt. Look at you, just the same as all the rest… The hunters must die… The nightmare must end.. Only I can stop this madness! heh heh heh The hunt makes hunters mad! Heh heh hah hah hah!
R1 button
When Eileen is severely hurt
The beasts cannot be stopped! What good are hunters now? Your blood is mine! A hunter’s blood for me! Your punishment is death! Death to the hunters! Enough of this terrible dream! Hah hah hah!
R1 button
Upon death
...Ah.. you monsters… All hunters must die! Heh heh heh!
