Attire

In-Game Description

    Bloodied arm bands.

Brador donned a compatriot's beastly scalp and hide while
still moist with blood. Most of the blood stains on this hide
    were from that day.
Note: The same in-game description in US & UK versions. ✓

Overview

  • Each piece of attire contributes to your overall defense and changes your character's appearance. While different pieces of attire do have different effects, the changes are typically not drastic enough to override aesthetic considerations. Information on highest defense combination of attire can be found on Highest Defense Armor Sets page.
  • Brador, an assassin of the Healing Church tasked with protecting the secrets hidden beyond the Hunter's Nightmare, Brador has been willingly locked away in the deepest cell of the Research Hall's prison for so long that his eccentric manner could be the result of eroding sanity or merely old age. He has seen many a comrade fall to the scourge of beasts and has freed at least one by his own hand, donning the bloodied hide as a testament and sequestering himself in the nightmare away from prying eyes. Although your progress into the Fishing Hamlet will eventually brand you his target, Brador is loath to claim another victim and will initially offer you a sincere warning to stay away. He will invade you in a total of four locations throughout the Fishing Hamlet and the Hunter's Nightmare, and will invade repeatedly in the same spots each time you return until you open his cell and kill him.

Availability

  • Dropped by (Old Hunters DLC): 1st Brador's Phantom on rooftop area in Fishing Hamlet after the Lighthouse Hut
  • Treasure in (Old Hunters DLC): rooftop area in Fishing Hamlet after the Lighthouse Hut if Brador, Church Assassin NPC is dead in his cell.

Clothing Defense

  • Clothing Defense is a percentage reduction after Physical DEF is applied. "Every 10 points of defense is 1% damage reduction." Each type is specific and separate in this category. The entry for "Physical" (read as, Physical damage that's not specifically Thrust or Blunt) doesn't apply to Thrust or Blunt damage, as they each have their own separate numbers. Separate items of clothing stack multiplicatively, rather than additively like you might expect. Hat, chest, arms, legs of 50, 100, 40, 40 respectively for example, would yield 212, or 1000 * (1 - (.95 * .9 * .96 * .96)), rather than 230.
  • Caryll Runes that affect damage resistance stack on top of your Clothing Defense. Note that the "Physical" defense rune increases Physical, Thrust, Blunt, and Blood. "Arcane" only affects Arcane, but not Bolt and Fire, which each have their own rune. These also stack multiplicatively on top of clothing (and each-other). A 5% rune would be like adding a clothing item with 50 defense in that category. In the example above, you'd go from 212 to 251 with a +5% rune. More information can be found in damage reduction page.

Hidden Equip Load

  • Despite hidden "Equip Load" being removed for stamina regeneration with patch 1.04 (more information on Weight System page). It does affect the fall damage. Equip Load gets higher by equipping pieces of attire, right and left hand weapons, furthermore in case of the weapons even unequipped ones in your quick menu count. Higher the hidden "Equip Load" the more damage will your character take from the fall damage. Interestingly enough pieces of attire from The Old Hunters DLC has no weight penalty, therefore as if you would fall naked (more information on Fall Damage page).

Notes

  • This Attire is part of The Old Hunters DLC.
  • Has the highest Beasthood of all Hand pieces.
  • Video: Bloodborne The Old Hunters - "Brador's / Bloodied" Gear Set Location / Preview by tassssssssss.
  • Part of the Brador's Set.

The physical stats for the Armor are
W / X / Y / Z:
  • W is Physical defense, has two special subtypes: blunt and thrust. Each physical attack is either normal physical, blunt, or thrust.
  • X is Blunt defense
  • Y is Thrust defense
  • Z is Blood defense: The Blood attribute dictates how resilient the Armor is to Blood Damage
The elemental stats for the Armor are
X / Y / Z:
  • X is Arcane defense: The Arcane attribute dictates how resilient the Armor is to Arcane Damage
  • Y is Fire defense: The Fire attribute dictates how resilient the Armor is to Fire Damage
  • Z is Bolt defense: The Bold attribute dictates how resilient the Armor is to Bolt Damage
The resistance stats for the Armor are
X / Y / Z:
  • X is Slow Poison resistance to slow poisoning. The higher this attribute, the more resistant you are.
  • Y is Rapid Poison resistance to rapid poisoning. The higher this attribute, the more resistant you are.
  • Z is Frenzy resistance to the lure of frenzy. The higher this attribute, the more resistant you are.
The higher this attribute, the closer you are to beasthood when temporary transformed. Grants a serious increase in ATK power, at the cost of a similarly serious decrease in defense. Points in beasthood thresholds:
  • 1-24: Phys ATK UP x1,2/DEF DOWN x0,8
  • 25-49: Phys ATK UP x1,3/DEF DOWN x0,7
  • 50-99: Phys ATK UP x1,4/DEF DOWN x0,6
  • 100-199: Phys ATK UP x1,5/DEF DOWN x0,5
  • 200-299: Phys ATK UP x1,6/DEF DOWN x0,4
  • 300+: Phys ATK UP x1,7/DEF DOWN x0,2
