In Game Description A misplaced workshop tool from the Hunter's Dream. The hunter who retrieves this can fortify weapons by kneading blood gems into them. Blood gems add properties to weapons when used to fortify them, as blood defines an organism. With Blood Gem Workshop Tool you can attach gems to your weapon by approaching the workbench in the Hunter's Dream and selecting "Blood Gem Fortification." Blood Gems are very important items that allow you to customize your weapons. Each gem has a rating, and higher rated gems have more powerful effects. To get the most powerful gems, you'll need to explore the Chalice Dungeons. Right-hand weapons can have up to three gem slots, and some left-hand weapons have one slot. There are different slot shapes, though; not every gem will fit every slot. The slot types are: Radial, Triangular, Waning, and Circle. Your gem's shape needs to match the slot you want to use it in. If you find a really great gem but the shape doesn't properly match your weapon, don't give up hope. There are actually two alternate versions of every right-hand weapon - the Lost and Uncanny versions. They're identical to normal weapons except that they have different slot configurations. These alternate weapons can be found in Chalice Dungeons; check the weapon page for your favorite weapon for more information on where you can find the Lost and Uncanny versions. There is also an exceedingly rare fifth type of gem shape - Droplet gems. These are "almighty" gems; they can fit in any type of gem slot! Availability Treasure in (Main Story): Central Yharnam, treasure chest in front of the stairway leading to the Oedon Chapel after you defeat Father Gascoigne at the Tomb of Oedon. Upon starting New Game+ Blood Gem Workshop Tool will stay in your inventory. Other Key Items (except for Badges, Rune Workshop Tool, Short Ritual Root Chalice, Workshop Haze Extractor, Yharnam Stone and Ring of Betrothal) you acquired on your previous playthrough will be stripped away and you'll need to collect them again.
