Giving Black Messenger Hat to the Stump Messengers in side garden of Hunter's Dream will change their appearance. The side garden is found to the left of the Workshop's main entrance doors. It is home nothing of interest, other than a small tree stump. Examining the stump reveals that Messengers may reside there, but you won't actually find them there until later visits. Once they appear you can use items you find in other areas to change the Messengers' appearance. This new accessory has no gameplay effect other than the adornment for your Messengers. However new Messengers appearance will be visible to other players during the online play through your Notes and Tombstones. Once you've picked up the Notebook you can begin leaving notes on the ground, just like the ones the Messengers have left around the Hunter's Dream for you. Other players will be able to see and read these notes as they play their game, so you can give them tips and warnings or point out things of interest. Players leave behind a tombstone when they die that appears in other players’ games. If you touch one of these tombstones within your game, you can view a sort of replay of their final moments, and hopefully get a hint as to how they met their end so you can avoid the same fate. Availability Treasure in (Main Story): Cathedral Ward; you'll find it on a rooftop just outside the Oedon Chapel, accessed via a ladder behind the gate at the top of the nearby stairs. If you need further assistance to find the messenger's garment, you can follow the full Cathedral Ward Map. Notes Upon starting New Game+ all of the Key Items (except for Badges, Blood Gem Workshop Tool, Rune Workshop Tool, Short Ritual Root Chalice, Workshop Haze Extractor, Yharnam Stone and Ring of Betrothal) you acquired on your previous playthrough will be stripped away and you'll need to collect them again. However messengers' accessory that you collected will still be available at Stump Messengers. Why not let them be happy, and revel as babes?
