In-Game Description Messengers are inhabitants of the dream who revere the brave hunters. Use them to send messages to other worlds. Leave notes with messengers, read the notes left to messengers in other worlds, and rate notes to reach out to hunters across planes of existance. Note: Online-use only. Cannot use this item offline. Note 1: Different in-game description (right) in US (1) & UK (2) versions (more). ✕ Note 2: Original Japanese text on Original Japanese Item Index page. ✓ Effects Notebook is strictly for use in online play. If you are playing in offline mode, you won't be able to use this item. Once you've picked up the Notebook you can begin leaving notes on the ground, just like the ones the Messengers have left around the Hunter's Dream for you. Other players will be able to see and read these notes as they play their game, so you can give them tips and warnings or point out things of interest. The notes are based on templates that allow you to combine words and simple phrases into a message. Perhaps you will warn hunters that follow of the perils ahead? Or maybe you intend to deceive them and lead them to an early demise? Use Upon using the Notebook you have three options: Jot Down Note, Notes Made and Notes Read. Jot Down Note will let you write your own note with screen to edit note contents, press R1 / L1 to change note format [table below]. Notes Made will let you review your notes statistics, you can choose to turn "Protect" option ON/OFF, having it ON will prevent it from being deleted when you place more than 10 notes [notes are deleted from the oldest]; also you can straight up delete your selected note. Notes Read will bring up list of recently read notes, showing its statistics and general area. Notes Rating Written player's notes will grow brighter and have more particles based on overall note evaluation level. level 0: 0 - 9 ratings; [gif] level 1: 10 - 99 ratings; [gif] level 2: 100 - 998 ratings; [gif] level 3: 999+ ratings; [gif] Availability Treasure in (Main Story): Gift from messengers upon first visit of Hunter's Dream. Notes Allows you to write notes, read those that have been already written, and review ones previously read. Rating note as "Fine" will grant full HP to the writer. You can place up to 10 notes at any given time. If you reach this number your oldest note will be deleted. Protect option in the notebook stop the note from being deleted. Despite the popular believe it is NOT true that notes from your Notebook only show up for the other player when the character who placed them is currently online.
