Evil Labyrinth Spirit ❘ 遺跡の悪霊

Strong Enemy

Description

  • Evil Labyrinth Spirits make their presence known through their laughter, which can be heard from a distance. Once they've spotted you, they will aggressively chase you while flailing their knife, screaming. Their attacks are simple and lacking in range, though they inflict Frenzy build-up, which is enough to make them a real threat. Their long combos also carry them forward a good distance. They attack with a variety of stabs and slashes, all of which are easily avoided by retreating away from them. Their Running Stab is the lone exception, and will need to be avoided by quickstepping to either side, or forwards in order to get behind them. Occasionally they will disappear into a puff of smoke and appear behind you for a surprise attack, though as long as you avoid standing still their surprise attacks after reappearing will almost never reach you.

Strategy

  • Far-reaching attacks will make short work of this enemy - the Rifle Spear and Ludwig's Holy Blade are especially effective against Evil Labyrinth Spirits; their thrust attacks can be used to hit them from outside of their reach, and Ludwig's Holy Blade also has a special attack bonus against kin. If there is a ladder in the room they reside in, lead them up it and drop back down, so that you can attack them while they are still climbing. You can also quickstep through their attacks to get behind them and perform a charged attack, though a simple R1 combo will often serve to kill them.

Notes

  • Despite Evil Labyrinth Spirit having 999 Slow Poison & Rapid Poison resistances it is still vulnerable to such status.
  • All enemies and bosses (except hunter enemies) have 999 frenzy resistance, despite that they are still vulnerable to such status. The only way to see it without modding is to use Shaman Bone Blade on enemy inflicting frenzy to attack others. [test video]
  • All variants (standard, one summoned by the the treasure chest and solely summoned) have the same stats (HP, Echoes, Defences, Multipliers & Bonuses).
  • Preset Chalice Dungeons; Central Pthumerian Labyrinth, Hintertomb, Cursed Pthumerian Defilement, Pthumeru Ihyll
  • Rally immunity: Evil Labyrinth Spirit is immune to rally from all damage types.
  • One of the rarest attack in the entire game belongs to the Evil Labyrinth Spirit, where she will use homing specter to attack you. [video 01, video 02 and video from testing chalice dungeon - rapid attack] & [image 01, image 02, image 03]; UPDATE: Foxyhooligans explains the technical aspect behind the trigger for this attack. The attack ID is 3000 but it is never used in the AI. The only reason the attack happens is because it is called from the think param "cannot move attack".

Evil Labyrinth Spirit
Pungent Blood Cocktails don't attract this enemy, making the item ineffective.
Shaman Bone Blades affect this enemy, making it hostile to other enemies.
