Basic Information

  • Many of Yharnam's residents have locked themselves inside their homes for fear of the beasts. Keep your eyes peeled on lit windows and doors. Some residents may even have useful information to aid in your quest. Beware of not attacking their homes, Iosefka, Impostor Iosefka and Gilbert will stop responding if you do.

Safe Places

  • As you wander around Yharnam, you'll come across of two NPCs (Impostor Iosefka and Oedon Chapel Dweller) who offer "Safe Place" where you can send residents of Yharnam into. Sending NPCs towards one place over another will trigger different outcome of their quests and rewards.

Iosefka's Clinic - Impostor Iosefka

Oedon Chapel - Oedon Chapel Dweller

  • An impostor who replaces the real Iosefka in the evening after you enter the Oedon Chapel for the first time. She'll initially ask you to send refugees to the clinic on the pretense of providing them with legitimate medical treatment, but after sneaking in through the rear entrance accessed by way of the Forbidden Woods, you'll discover her true intentions and force her hand. At this point you may continue on as her willing accomplice and resume sending victims to the clinic with full knowledge that they'll become her test subjects or confront her in the second floor operating room to dispense swift and arbitrary justice. In order to claim the most valuable item she holds, however, you'll need to retreat from the clinic and let her live until the Blood Moon is out; at this point you'll find her collapsed in the operating room and can obtain her One Third Umbilical Cord by killing her. Sending NPCs to Iosefka's Clinic will still turn them into Small Celestial Emissaries even after killing Impostor Iosefka (before Blood Moon).
  • You'll meet him in the Oedon Chapel after crossing through the Central Yharnam sewers, at which point he'll inform you that the chapel is safe from beasts and ask you to share this information with any refugees you meet. There are a total of six NPCs who can be sent to the Oedon Chapel, but only four are required for completing the quest: the Lonely Old Woman, Arianna, Woman of the Night, the Bigoted Old man and Adella, Nun of the Healing Church. It is also possible to send the Afflicted Beggar and the Young Girl to the chapel; however, sending the beggar will result in the deaths of the other refugees, and the Young Girl will be killed en route.
