Basic Information

  • Lance McDonald modified Bloodborne so that the Vermin and Gold Pendant items can be used to switch the player character's gravity on and off. The character is able to acquire both before leaving Iosefka's Clinic, allowing gravity to be manipulated from the very beginning of the game. This video was recorded on the Bloodborne Game of the Year Edition (version 1.06), not the TGS build used in Lance's earlier cut content videos.
  • Extension: Freecam Exploration wiki page. The ability to freely manipulate Bloodborne's camera is programmed into the game, and was used to create the more dynamic camera angles seen in the trailers and other promotional material. This feature is disabled in the release version of the game, but has been restored by Lance McDonald (youtube.com/warpchair). Combined with Lance's other game modifications, which remove clipping, gravity and enemy AI, it is possible to freely explore Bloodborne and view any area from any angle.

The Hunter's Dream Pillars

  • [April 02, 2018] Bloodborne Unseen Content :: The Hunter's Dream Pillars :: Character Editor video by Lance McDonald
  • By turning off the player character's gravity, it is possible to walk from the Hunter's Dream to the "shrines" in the distance. They are all very low-detail models as they are not intended to be viewed up close. There is nothing on the tops or bottoms of the "shrines", and nothing that indicates an obvious purpose for them.
  • The moon in Hunter's Dream.

Modded with no gravity and walk through walls

  • Taken from Lance McDonald's April 22, 2018 stream. Bloodborne modded with no gravity, walk through walls, and enemy AI disabled.
  • Cross-section of the Oedon Chapel "study" area.
  • Aerial view of the River of Blood.
  • Cross-section of the Underground Corpse Pile which shows the tunnel you walk through to Ludwig.
  • Cross-section of the Research Hall showing the connecting tunnel between the prison area and the Hall's entrance.
  • Cross-sections of various parts of the Research Hall.
  • Ariel view of the Research Hall interior.
  • Cross-Section of the Astral Clocktower (interior).
  • A close look at the ship masts in the Fishing Hamlet.
  • Distant views of the Research Hall and Astral Clocktower from the Fishing Hamlet.
  • What appears to be an unused path in the Fishing Hamlet.
  • Disabling gravity allows the player to snap to clipping planes they normally cannot access. Doing so in certain locations causes the player to move and crouch simultaneously.
  • Aerial view of the Fishing Hamlet.
  • Aerial view of the Parasite Farm.
  • Cross-section of the underground tunnels leading to Kos.
  • Aerial view of the Coast.
  • Running to the "Sun" in the Hunter's Nightmare reveals it is a 3D object, not a skybox texture.
  • An intact version of the doors of the cabinet in the Hunter's Dream exist underneath the object in the map. They are never used in-game and their purpose is unknown.
  • With clipping disabled, it is possible to explore Upper Cathedral Ward without the chandelier falling.
  • An unused connecting staircase and elevator shaft exist in Lumenflower Gardens. The elevator leads up from the base of the Grand Cathedral to some small stairs which connect to the garden. The stairs still have functional clipping, but the shaft does not and the elevator platform does not exist. What looks like a door to the elvator is visible from the air.
  • Clipping behind the Altar of Despair reveals more of the corpse.
  • Clipping outside the Altar of Despair entirely reveals a curved brick wall.
  • Cross-section of the Altar of Despair.
  • Clipping through the walls in Iosefka's Clinic reveals the remnants of an unused room beneath the room that Impostor Iosefka is encountered in. This room is likely where the unused old woman NPC would have resided, and could have been spoken to through the door.
  • Aerial view of Byrgenwerth showing an inaccessible area.
  • The blank area with a red square in the middle is where the Lecture Hall is located. The geometry is invisible, but it is possible to see items and enemies floating in the air.
  • Clipping through the floor of Byrgenwerth reveals that nothing is underneath the trap door.
  • Aerial view of the bridge where the Mensis Brain is.
  • The back of the Mensis Brain, usually impossible to see while it is hanging.

Modded with no gravity and walk through walls 2nd Part

  • Taken from Lance McDonald's April 27, 2018 stream. Bloodborne modded with no gravity, walk through walls, and enemy AI disabled.
  • The area behind the barred gate at the start of Upper Cathedral Ward has some functional clipping, suggesting it was intended to be accessible. The gate may have been the original entrance to Upper Cathedral Ward, rather than the door at the top of the Church Workshop.
  • Aerial view of the entrance to Upper Cathedral Ward.
  • Cross-section of the area connecting Cathedral Ward to Old Yharnam.
  • The low-poly version of Old Yharnam visible from Cathedral Ward is still visible when clipping out of bounds on the way to Old Yharnam. This shows that the geography of Old Yharnam does not match the version seen from a distance, with the Old Yharnam the player character visits being further away and facing a different direction.
  • Aerial view of the entrance to Old Yharnam with some environmental detail missing.
  • The other side of the door the player character opens to reach Old Yharnam.
  • Aerial views of the first half of Old Yharnam.
  • Aeriel views of the second half of Old Yharnam, including the large flowing river which crosses the entire town but is largely unseen in the release version. The flowing water texture is unused on any other body of water in the game.
  • Clipping inside the altar in the Church of the Good Chalice.
  • Unseen geography behind the Church of the Good Chalice.
  • Cross-section of Iosefka's Clinic, showing Impostor Iosefka behind the closed door.
  • Clipping inside the altar in the Grand Cathedral reveals a second version of the statue with a blood-splattered texture. This is the model used during the cutscene where Amelia transforms.
  • Aerial view of the second half of Hemwick
  • Cross-section of Cainhurst.
  • Underneath Cainhurst.
  • Behind Logarius' Seat, which is either inaccessible or obscured by Annalise' throne room.
  • The Vileblood Queen's Chamber lantern is visible floating in the sky before the room has appeared.
  • Underneath the Vileblood Queen's Chamber, showing the stained glass window behind Annalise. It also matches up with the unused area under Logarius' Seat.
  • Cross-section of Annalise' throne room.
  • This unused building loads when the player character enters the Vileblood Queen's Chamber, but is never visited.
  • Aerial view of Logarius' Seat.

Modded with no gravity and walk through walls 3rd Part

  • Taken from Lance McDonald's April 29, 2018 stream. Bloodborne modded with no gravity, walk through walls, and enemy AI disabled.
  • A copy of the alcove with the ladder leading to Logarius' Seat exists on the side of the Vileblood Queen's Chamber, and can be accessed by turning off gravity and clipping. It is only a graphical asset and cannot be climbed. It eixsts because the exterior of the Vileblood Queen's Chamber is an exact copy of the building Logarius' Seat is on top of.
  • Aerial view of the island and forest in between Hemwick and Cainhurst.
  • Detailed look at the back of Witch's Abode, showing windows and alcoves (possibly for doors) that are not visible under normal circumstances.
  • Aerial view of the low-poly version of Hemwick visible from Cainhurst.
  • Exploration of the low-poly version of Yharnam visible from Cainhurst, showing the Grand Cathedral and Upper Cathedral Ward.
  • Cross-section of the tunnel in Witch's Abode that leads to the corpse with the Rune Workshop Tool.
  • The broken ceiling of the room with the Rune Workshop Tool in it has functional clipping and can be walked on.
  • The second half of Yahar'gul can be visited prior to the Red Moon by clipping through the door. There are no enemies or Amygdala.
  • Aerial view of the room in Yahar'gul where the corpse with the Heir rune is. What appears to be an unused second floor is visible, with statues arranged on a balcony.
  • Aerial views of the second half of Yahar'gul prior to the Red Moon.
  • By skipping the Red Moon, it is possible to see the intact Hypogean Gaol lantern and Kidnapper enemies from the Yahar'gul Chapel lantern.
  • Exploring behind the bricked up archway in Yahar'gul. The area exists but has no clipping.
  • Advent Plaza before the Red Moon.
  • Aerial view of Advent Plaza.
  • The Bell Maidens who summon The One Reborn are automatically loaded into Advent Plaza regardless of the time of day or if the fight has been triggered.
  • The Red Moon will still appear in The One Reborn's introductory cutscene even if the time has not changed. This causes two moons to appear.
  • Byrgenwerth and the Lecture Hall share the same map - the only two areas to do so - so it is possible to go out of bounds in the Lecture Hall and simply run to Byrgenwerth.
  • There is a gap in the geography below the trap door in Byrgenwerth, suggesting it originally connected to another room.
  • There are two unused pillars underneath the floor in Byrgenwerth, likely remnants of an earlier design.
  • There is a red square with a single tree in it beneath the Forbidden Woods geometry. Its origin and purpose are unknown.
  • The hole that the Mensis Brain falls down is visible when clipping out of bounds in the Nightmare of Mensis.
  • Cross-section of the Nightmare of Mensis.
  • Underneath the Wet Nurse' Lunarium.
  • Aerial views of the Nightmare of Mensis.
  • Distant view of the Nightmare of Mensis.
  • Aerial view of the Altar of Despair.
  • Clipping out of bounds in the Grand Cathedral reveals an unused pathway connecting to Lumenflower Gardens via the unused elevator which has already been documented.
  • What appears to be an unused path and door exist underneath the Abandoned Old Workshop.
  • If the low-poly version of the Great Bridge is loaded, the broken staircase is complete.
  • There is an unused lever hidden underground near the Cleric Beast. It can be activated like any other lever, but its purpose is currently unknown.
  • The back of Amygdala's chamber, only visible using clipping.

Boundary Break

  • [June 09, 2018] Off Camera Secrets | Bloodborne - Boundary Break video by Shesez in collaboration with Lance McDonald
  • Cleric Beast held off camera behidn the wall prior to boss fight.
  • Gacoigne's beast form held under the arena.
  • Celestial Emissary held under the arena.
  • Cross-section of the windmill in Forbidden Woods, including the Abhorrent Beast, who is held out of bounds like the other previous bosses.
  • Real Iosefka & Impostor Iosefka behind the door. The same model is used, but the Impostor is armed.
  • Inside of Gilbert's house.
  • Turning off clipping and walking into the Hunter's Dream workshop prior to the doors opening for the first time causes the doors to open automatically (but does not cause Gehrman to appear).
  • Inside Gascoigne's house.
  • The "old woman" behind the door in Forbidden Woods is a Yharnamite enemy (the unarmed kind you find in Yahar'gul).
  • Extremely distant view of Byrgenwerth.
  • The Messengers who appear at the headstones are held underground until needed. When groups of Messengers spawn to give you an item, one Messenger always remains underground and does not animate.
  • Close up of the floating statue in Old Yharnam, revealing that it is two statues clipping into each other.
  • Clipping through the door to Paarl from Old Yharnam causes the arena to only partially load. The boss fight still occurs.
  • Cross-section of the Grand Cathedral altar, showing the blood-splattered statue which appears as Amelia transforms.
  • The inaccessible road in Hemwick which leads to the tunnel.
  • Cross-section of the room where the Rune Workshop Tool is held, demonstrating the functional clipping on the roof.
  • Inside the coffin carts in Yahar'gul, showing the Cramped Casket's unseen "passive" state.
  • Close up of Amelia's pendant.
  • Close up of the Shadows of Yharnam with the brightness and contrast adjusted to show the "body" underneath the cloak.
  • Going out of bounds in Yhara'gul reveals that it is the only area of the game where distant scenery is made from flat images, rather than low detail models.
  • Low detail copies of Old Yharnam are used as "filler" scenery throughout the game. One building has an error causing it to use an entire texture page rather than a single texture.
  • Aerial view of Byrgenwerth.
  • Close up of the Mensis Brain.
  • Unused elevator shaft from Lumenflower Gardens.
