Pilgrim ❘ 巡礼者

Regular Enemy

Description

  • These enemies are easily identified by their telltale ghostly glow and are typically found wandering the labyrinths alone. They are not initially hostile but will fight back when provoked, unleashing a short-range magical explosion before immediately reverting to their non-hostile state; their explosion attack has a long windup and leaves plenty of time for you to quickstep backward out of range. They have no super armor whatsoever and are highly vulnerable to R1 combo attacks, which will prevent them from ever using their magic blast.

Strategy

  • Like the bare-fisted Labyrinth Watchers, this enemy can be ignored or easily killed and poses no real threat. You can deal enough damage with a combo to kill it before it even has the chance to retaliate. You can also use it to gain Quicksilver Bullets or Blood Echoes if you've equipped a Caryll Rune that rewards you for visceral attacks; just move to its back for a charged R2 to stagger it and then land the visceral attack.

Notes

  • Preset Chalice Dungeons: Pthumerian Labyrinth
  • Despite Pilgrim having 999 Slow Poison resistance it is still vulnerable to such status.
  • All enemies and bosses (except hunter enemies) have 999 frenzy resistance, despite that they are still vulnerable to such status. The only way to see it without modding is to use Shaman Bone Blade on enemy inflicting frenzy to attack others. [test video]
  • Pilgrims will not respawn upon you picking the loot from them. They will appear again when you remake the Chalice Dungeon.
  • In Root Chalice Dungeons you can run across rare Pilgrim variant without the staff but with talisman, this variant has the same stats (HP, Echoes, Defences, Multipliers & Bonuses) as the staff version, [video/image], this particular Pilgrim was found in kkzdina5, FRC Isz Gravestone L3
  • Rally immunity: Pilgrim is immune to rally from all damage types.
  • Despite Pilgrim not being hostile he can grab your blood echoes. [image 01, image 02]

Pungent Blood Cocktails don't attract this enemy, making the item ineffective.
Shaman Bone Blades affect this enemy, making it hostile to other enemies.
