Basic Information

Beast-possessed Soul as Special Character Random Effect [total chance 40%]: The Additional Rites aren't the only things that affect the characteristics of Root Dungeons. There are three random effects that can be applied every time you perform a ritual, regardless of whether you use any Additional Rites. These are all independent of each other, so it's possible to have all of them appear in a single dungeon.

Special Character Random Effect: This effect gives a chance for a special Beast-possessed Soul enemy to appear that will attempt to kill not just you, but other enemies as well including purple (Vileblood, Executioner, Hunter of Hunters) and red (invader) adversaries. This can be used to your advantage, if you can lure this beast towards other deadly foes. It also gives the chance of a shop or a rare shop appearing, each with their own lineup of consumables for sale. The shops appear in the usual messenger baths, but the rare shop is run by Patches the Spider, and can occur only after you've encountered him in the main game. When he appears, he'll be dangling from the ceiling, offering a selection of useful items at vastly inflated prices.

This random effect sparked boss fights in Root Chalice Dungeons where you lure Beast-possessed Soul against other mighty foes such as Abhorrent Beast, Amygdala or Loran Darkbeast.

Furthermore there is BPS Special Enemy Loot Exploit connected to this random effect.

How To Get Beast-Possessed Soul Into Boss Room
There’s quite a number of restrictions and obstacles that sometimes make it that it takes days or weeks to find the right boss room, and hours to get a decent footage.
1.	It only works for Layer 3 and Layer 4 boss rooms, and for surprisingly small amount of them.
2.	It was found out it can only be done in two boss room types - the one in the screenshot, which is a circular arena with a gap on the outer rim, and the cave-like, rectangular room with 4 pillars (e.g. the one in the BPS vs Amygdala video).
3.	Unless you are willing to re-create the dungeon and run to Layer ¾ every time, you need to save-scum. This is because you only get one try at this, and that’s the moment you begin to open the boss room door, before the fog wall settles in. usually process is to backup my save near a sleeping BPS so you can load the save after an unsuccessful attempt and quickly try again.
4.	You need to start opening the door at the right moment that will ensure BPS will clip past you and through the fog wall before it blocks the entrance completely - the best moment for this is when BPS starts his slash combo (up to 6 slashing attacks with forward momentum). This is often the most time-consuming part because it can be difficult to bait out this attack chain at the right moment.
