Basic Information

Specific chests and their layout, first location is inside treasure room

After loading chests will be broken

  • Double chest duplication glitch was first documented by altairnaruhodou on April 30, 2018.
  • To trigger this duplication glitch reload the game, near the chests, once you are loaded back chests will be broken and new loot will be on their spots. First chest will contain duplicated loot that wasn't even there in a first place while loot in the second one will stay the same.
  • Research Results:
  • While almost all chest types break upon reloading, this glitch only affects the front chest of this double setup, whether the back chest is or isn't there. Every other type of single chest that was tried yielded no extra items.
  • The chest on the front is the only one that dupes items. Back chest never yields extra treasure, and may or may not be there for the glitch to work.
  • The duplicated items are generally ritual materials, but they can also contain gems.
  • Reloading once close to the front chest is enough to get the duplication, and further reloadings have no effect.
  • If you do not loot the chest before reloading, the original content of the chest will spawn as the fifth and last item.
  • The four duplicated items do not affect any other treasure in the dungeons. They are pure extra copies that come from nowhere.
  • The duplicated loot is unique to every set of chests and remains the same for all different players and different runs of the dungeons. Which means, in other words, that the duplicated items are guaranteed loot.
  • The duplicated items are not an exact copypaste of other loot in the same layer, or even in the same dungeon. The type of loot is indeed present in the dungeon, but not always in the same amounts.
  • So far there is no evidence on where these items may come from or why this happens. It seems to be a randomized amount and type of other loot that is already present in the dungeon.

  • In Isz Gravestone L3, glyph 6q2imuex, in side area before layer lamp, these chests contain, Red Jelly x1 and Yellow Backbone x3. When you reload the game there will be on the spot of the first chest, Red Jelly x1, Sage's Hair x3, Red Jelly x1, Tomb Mould (5) x6, Tomb Mould (5) x6, and Yellow Backbone x3 on the spot of second one.   • In FRC Lower Loran L3, glyph dskffdu5, in side area before layer lamp, these chests contain, Blooming Coldblood Flower x9 and Blooming Coldblood Flower x9. When you reload the game there will be on the spot of the first chest, Bastard of Loran x4, Blooming Coldblood Flower x9, Bastard of Loran x3, Bastard of Loran x3 and Blooming Coldblood Flower x9.
  • In FRC Pthumeru Ihyll L4, glyph cj5er9fr, in side area before layer boss, these chests contain, Red Jelly x5 and Ritual Blood (5) x12. When you reload the game there will be Sage's Hair x5, Yellow Backbone x4, Red Jelly x5, Cursed Adept Damp Blood Gem (5/6).
  • In C Pthumeru Ihyll L2, glyph 6us369nz, in side area before layer lamp. Single chest setup. Original loot: 1 x Yellow Backbone. Additional items with dupe: Cursed Odd Tempering Damp Blood Gem, 3 x Sage's Hair, 1 x Yellow Backbone, 1 x Yellow Backbone.
